One of the cheapest folding screen products (also the first folding screen product released in October 2018) should be the FlexPai series of Rouyu Technology.

On September 16, it was reported that a new model of RY1202 had appeared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. If there is no accident, this should be the FlexPai 2 that Rouyu will officially launch on September 22. The moon phase of the latter in March 2020 is mainly to improve the appearance, thickness and performance of the previous generation. As a screen manufacturer, Rouyu's own mobile phone is also a very rare operation.

According to the pictures and parameters exposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the most obvious change of FlexPai 2 is that the once eye-catching industrial style hinge has become much smaller and more beautiful. However, it seems that the camera module is obviously prominent. In addition, the folded screen is fully fitted, and there will not be huge gaps like the previous generation.

The size of FlexPai 2 is 186.2 × 133.8 × 6.5mm, 340g. The weight changes little, but the thickness decreases significantly. The screen specification has not changed. It is still a 7.8 inch 1920 × 1440 4:3 flexible folding AMOLED screen. The battery increased from 3970mAh to 4450mAh.

In terms of performance, the main frequency of the processor is 2.84GHz. Although Snapdragon 855/865 is the dominant frequency, considering that the previous generation of products has already been Snapdragon 855, the new product is more likely to be Snapdragon 865. 8/12GB memory and 256/512GB storage are available.

The camera has also been greatly upgraded, with rear 64 million (main camera)+16 million (ultra wide angle?)+8 million (which should be 3 times the labeled telephoto) and front 32 million pixels. Compared with the previous generation, the front is 20 million pixels, and the rear is 16 million pixels, so the upgrade effort is huge.

According to the previous official press release of Rouyu, FlexPai 2 uses its third-generation flexible screen, which can withstand 200000 folds. The new fully closed linear shaft can be fully closed after folding, and the shaft/hinge can stop at any 0-180 degrees.

The price of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the National Bank of China is 16900 yuan, and Huawei Mate X/Xs is also close. The price range of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series and Motorola razr series, which are mainly thin and light, is 12000 to 13000 yuan. However, judging from the level of configuration upgrade of Rouyu FlexPai 2, the new product is very likely to be close to, or even exceed, the price of 10000 yuan.
