The setting of vivo X50 Pro+reminds me of the Xshot in 2014. After six years, what Vivo shows us is a more elegant "Xshot": the first Samsung GN1 super bottom sensor+120Hz high brush hyperbolic screen+very powerful HiFi. Although the draft has been delayed for a month, it's better to be late than not. Send it now Love to play computer games X50 Pro+evaluation of.
parameter
The vivo X series has never been used for price performance. The following Y series and iQOO are responsible for this work. But one thing to say is that the X50 Pro+is the most cost-effective model in the X50 series, and it is the first time that the X-series has directly used the flagship SoC.
The core of large cup and super large cup is the screen refresh rate SoC、 Camera and quick charge. X50 Pro+launched Samsung GN1 sensor for the first time. However, this super bottom, second only to the P40 series, is not equipped with a micro platform like the X50 Pro, otherwise the thickness would be out of control. For the medium cup X50, there is too much reduction, and there is no curved screen, micro pan tilt, periscope telephoto and audio chip. This is not recommended.
In addition, the camel (close to brown) rear cover is made of different materials. It is lighter but thicker. However, it is difficult to distinguish the weight and thickness differences between the two color schemes. Camel feels soft and comfortable, and gravity has a texture that is easy to handle. Entangled users are advised to go to the offline store to have a feel before making a decision.
By the way, even vivo has canceled the 3.5mm headphone interface, and the official headphone has become a Type-C interface. Both the X50 Pro equipped with AK4377A and the X50 Pro+equipped with CS43131 use the C port for analog output. For 3.5mm earphones, the problem can be solved with cheap analog adapter cable.
Appearance and workmanship
X50 Pro+accessories include: 55W head with the same appearance as the previous 44W head (the machine only supports 44W fast charging), XE710 with in ear Type-C port, and transparent silicone sleeve.
Narrow slot for receiver, light/distance sensor
X50 Pro+is not very thin, thicker than Meizu 17, 1-plus 8 series. However, the weight of 191.1g is the lightest among the "super large cup" products. In addition, the arc of the curved screen is large, so the fuselage is narrower, and the width is successfully pressed at 73mm. Thanks to the up and down flattening design, it is also smaller in length.
The texture of the frosted metal middle frame is very good, and there is polishing around the keys
Front and back sim slot with waterproof washer
The curvature of the curved screen is very large, even a little waterfall screen. The advantage is that the width of the fuselage is controlled, but the curvature is too large, which causes the edge to be dark when looking at the front. Fortunately, it is OK to prevent accidental touch. When sliding left and right back, this large curved screen will give people the feeling of bouncing their hands (fingers bounce back after hitting the curved screen).
The glass back cover on the back is very textured, and one person thinks the best looking mahjong card four shot matrix. However, the bulge is really high.
Fingerprint identification&sound quality&vibration&workmanship&feel
The screen fingerprint uses a chip on the top of the sink, and the recognition speed is medium to high. The recognition area is about 1-2cm lower than that of common models, which is not easy to handle and safe (the thumb is too low, and the phone is easy to turn out of the palm like a seesaw).
Single speaker and ordinary vibration motor are the biggest hardware regret on X50 Pro+. All vibrations are turned off by default in vivo. In the "buzz buzz" non X-axis linear motor, the vibration of the X50 Pro+is relatively tight. Fortunately, it is. Although it has little impact on me, many users like the vibration feedback of time wheel, camera shutter and other operations.
In addition to the WCD9385 standard configuration of Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, the X50 Pro+also has a CS43131 audio chip. Only vivo and LG still insist on sound quality this year, but even vivo has canceled the extremely advanced headphone interface. Previously, earphones had to use Type-C adapter cable with analog output.
tone quality? One word, strong. Even if the official mobile phone is used only, it is superior to the ordinary X series vivo mobile phone, and other mobile phones are even more incomparable (except some models of LG).
X50 Pro+has the same positive and negative radians, the middle frame is slightly higher than the front and back glass, and the tolerance control is OK. The hand feeling is between "true TM cool" and "pretty TM cool". Vivo even added a circle of very thin and hidden glue between the screen and the middle frame to reduce the risk of falling off the screen and exploding details. If the camera hadn't taken it too clearly, I wouldn't have noticed it at all.
screen
The X50 large cup and super large cup are 6.56-inch perforated Samsung Super AMOLED curved screens, but the X50 Pro+is upgraded to 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling, and it should also be the first 1080P+Samsung A screen with 120Hz high brush on the market.
Manual maximum brightness, 809 nits locally, 511 nits in full white, 524, 520, 516, 514 nits in left, right, upper and lower corners respectively, with good uniformity. The brightness is automatically activated, reaching 1129 nits locally and 809 nits completely white. The performance is excellent, and there is no pressure to use it in the noon sun.
The test results of the three modes provided by the system under the condition of 100 nites are as follows:
The default/standard mode color temperature is 7577K, covering 133.9% sRGB and 98.1% P3 gamut. Average Delta E 7.1 at sRGB, maximum 11.9. Average Delta E 5.5 at P3 gamut, maximum 8.5
Normal mode (corresponding to sRGB gamut), color temperature 6597K, covering 94.9% of sRGB gamut, average Delta E 3.8 under sRGB, maximum 7.2
In bright mode (the color gamut is larger than the default mode), the color temperature is 7576K, covering 145.3% of sRGB and 99.8% of P3 color gamut (red, blue and green exceed P3, but because the coverage is slightly biased, P3 cannot be completely covered). Average Delta E 8.2 at sRGB, maximum 13.4. Average Delta E 6.4 at P3 gamut, 9.7 maximum.
The gamma value of different modes is around 2, which is lower than the standard value of 2.2. There will be more dark details, but the contrast will decrease. However, because the saturation itself is already high, the contrast is not a problem to the naked eye:
Default mode sRGB color standard
Default mode P3 color standard
Normal mode sRGB color standard
Vivid mode P3 color accuracy
The color of the screen is bright and pleasing to the eye, but the color accuracy is general:
The factory default mode (corresponding to the P3 color gamut) should naturally deviate from the daily sRGB content, mainly because the red green system is too much higher than the standard. In P3 color gamut, the yellow color system is mainly biased. Watch P3 content such as movies and choose it;
For web pages and image content mostly based on sRGB, I hope to restore them accurately or like "plain is true", so I choose ordinary mode without thinking (but the color will appear dim, and the color bias is mainly in red and yellow);
The bright mode aims at flamboyance, and the three primary color points all exceed P3, so the color accuracy is general.
system
X50 Pro+is based on Android 10's Funtouch OS 10.5. In the past two years, Funtouch OS has been moving towards native Android at a high speed, and other functions are easier than before. It is also one of the few systems that centralize animation effects and place them in the first level menu. The atmosphere and light effects of fingerprint, facial recognition, unlocking, charging, incoming calls, and music can be changed.
The system functions are still very complete, and the logic is much clearer than before, but the search gesture on the sliding desktop and jovi on the upper right corner of the notification center have not been closed yet. The default elements/fonts of the system are the smallest in the mainstream ROMs. It seems a bit troublesome for people in their twenties.
Advertising and push are also the mainstream level of domestic ROMs - quite a lot. Fortunately, most of the advertisements can be turned off, and the notice bar also has a switch that is convenient for blocking notices. Under the 120Hz screen, the animation is already very smooth when you go back to the home page and other screen scraping operations. Vivo has pushed three updates to it in the last month, and the frequency is comparable to the development version system. It can be seen that Vivo has worked hard.
By the way, now that the developer option is turned on, the notification bar will finally not become a big blue bar/orange bar. However, the notification center still has a resident notification that "if you go wrong, it will be closed". In addition, the frame rate that is turned on by default in the game mode takes precedence, which will automatically reduce the game resolution. Remember to turn it off manually.
performance
X50 Pro+is the first flagship SoC product in the history of vivo X series, Snapdragon 865+ LPDDR5@2750MHz +UFS3.1 is full of blood. When it was released, Snapdragon 865+was still rumored to be nonexistent. Because Qualcomm is not good at squeezing toothpaste, the improvement of Snapdragon 865+is below 9%, and non game users need not tangle.
CPU computing performance comparison
GPU graphics performance comparison
Flash memory read/write performance comparison
The performance tuning of X50 Pro+is conservative, but the CPU and GPU gap between 865 models is not large. The storage performance of the X50 Pro+is quite strong. Under the premise of 256GB, the flash memory read and write performance of the X50 Pro+is better than that of iQOO.
Take photos with camera
Review the parameters of the strongest camera hardware in vivo history, "main camera+ultra wide+2 and 5x dual telephoto". In addition to main camera, 2 and 5x telephoto are close to X30 Pro:
The world's first Samsung S5KGN150 million pixels, full pixel dual core focusing (so there are indeed 100 million photodiodes), 1/1.31 inch (second only to the P40 series of 1/1.28 inch, 1.22 μ m IMX700), 1.2 μ m unit pixel, four in one 2.4 μ m large pixel, F1.85 aperture. Big bottom and big pixels, as well as dual core focusing, which can be said to be "very right direction"
Ultra wide angle is 13MP S5K3L6 (Samsung Z Flip and iQOO 3 are both CMOS), 1/3.1 inch, 1.12 μ m, 120 degree wide angle, F2.2 aperture, and also a macro head
2X telephoto (portrait lens), 32MP, S5KGD1SM (rumored to be the enhanced phase focusing version of the front GD1), 1/2.8 inch, 0.8 μ m, F2.08
5X periscope telephoto (60x digital zoom), 13MP, S5K3M5, 1/3.4 inch, 1.0um, F3.0
Front 32MP, S5KGD1, 1/2.8 inch, 0.8 μ m, F2.45
Consistency of X50 Pro+wide-angle, main camera and telephoto
Consistency of iPhone wide angle, main camera and telephoto
Consistency of Xiaomi 10 Pro wide-angle, main camera and telephoto
Consistency of one plus eight wide-angle, main camera and telephoto
In addition to the iPhone, the exposure and white balance of the three cameras of each of the three machines are different. The X50 Pro+is mainly due to the large difference in photometry, and the consistency of white balance is better than that of one plus 8 and Xiaomi 10.

In addition to the fact that the 2x zoom of one plus is digital cutting, all others trigger the 2x light variable long focal head. Vivo, the head of the portrait, smears noise reduction force, but the details are a bit fleshy.

One plus eight doesn't have a telephoto. The iPhone has only a 2x telephoto. The "5x telephoto" of the Xiaomi 10 Pro is 3.7 times optical+digital cutting. Only the X50 Pro+has a true 5x light change. The difference is very immediate at high magnification.
Compared with Xiaomi 10 Pro, X50 Pro+has 5 times light change, which not only has a more stable white balance and more details, but also does not need to be sharpened and smeared hard, and the picture is natural.

The advantage of X50 Pro+is more stable white balance and metering, and highlight suppression is slightly better. However, the 100 million pixels of Xiaomi 10 Pro is not vegetarian. As long as the light is not too bad, the discrimination ability is really beyond saying (a lot of pig teammates with high light halo, edge degradation, and the Huicha who took photos of near objects are also degraded, which can not cover up the light of a few hairs).
Weak light scene 1, super wide angle
Weak light scene 1, super wide angle, central amplification
The performance of the X50 Pro+ultra wide angle is weaker than that of the IMX481 with one plus eight, and the ultra wide angle of the high pixel Xiaomi 10 Pro is 55, which is OK. The iPhone and Xiaomi's ultra wide angle have no night view mode, but the iPhone's ultra wide angle hardware is too weak, and the light is almost useless.

The night view mode of X50 Pro+improves the extreme light and dark details, not only does not greatly improve the night view exposure, but also enhances the contrast of other places. The direction is right. There is no problem with night vision and contrast reduction of other manufacturers.
In the final ultra weak scene, we bring the stronger super bottom plus 8 Pro and OPPO Find X2 Pro for comparison. It should be noted that because the X50 Pro+'s current firmware (August 10) super night view mode uses a crazy slow shutter for 4 seconds in this ultra weak light scene, resulting in a film rate that is significantly lower than other machines, it is shown in automatic mode.
The X50 Pro+GN1, as expected, shows strong weak light performance. The automatic mode can single out other flagship super night view modes, awesome。 Vivo's white balance and photometry tuning are also good, very close to the naked eye, but its ultimate discrimination is slightly weaker than its peers. Its contrast is slightly higher than that of its peers in the whole process. With saturation, the proof is obviously flattering.
Five times telephoto and optical zoom are justice. There is nothing to say about five times light zoom with full blood. The 2x telephoto has a small bottom, slightly stronger than the 2x telephoto of iPhone, and its performance and usability are weaker than that of Xiaomi 10 Pro, which uses the 2x telephoto of 1.4 μ m CMOS; Ultra wide angle is also a little weak. Although playing iPhone is not a problem, it is only the middle level of Android flagship.
Endurance&Charging&Heating
The X50 Pro+is equipped with a 4350mAh battery and has a 120Hz refresh rate. After 30 minutes of medium-sized games (NBA 2K15), 30 minutes of wifi and 45 minutes of online surfing and 30 minutes of local video playback, after a total of 2 hours of endurance testing, the remaining power is 86%.
For the 120Hz screen and 4350mAh battery, the performance was unexpectedly good, mainly because the video power consumption and game power consumption were low (the overall 120Hz did not take effect in the game?)
The X50 Pro+supports up to 44W fast charging, but a 55W fast charging head (used to fight in the future?) is provided. The charging is mainly conducted by 9V 4A:
The peak power is about 36.5W, which lasts for about 4 minutes
Then the fluctuation state of 19W-24W is maintained for about 17 minutes
Slowly rise near 20W, and gradually drop the current after 40 minutes
It will become 5V trickle in about 1 hour
At 1 hour and 3 minutes, 100% full charge is prompted, and the trickle charge power of about 2-3W is maintained until 1 hour and 16 minutes.
From 0 to 100% charge, 5 minutes charge to 15%, 10 minutes charge to 25%, 15 minutes charge to 34%, 30 minutes charge to 60%, and 1 hour charge to 99%. It takes 1 hour and 3 minutes to fully charge. The performance is similar to that of the iQOO flagship, far better than that of the 30W level rivals, but in this crazy era, it can only be regarded as a normal level.
It should also be noted that vivo and iQOO are not friendly to PD/PPS/QC, and most third-party charging heads can only be 5V 2A. If there is a high demand for fast charging, you need to prepare several more official matching heads.
summary
I still remember how happy we were when the X50 Pro+was released on June 1: finally there was a sensor close to the IMX700! It seems that a new door has been opened in the mobile phone industry, and the starting price of 4999 yuan is not too expensive. In addition, there are 120Hz high screen and almost out of print HiFi.
However, both the short and long boards of the X50 Pro+are extreme. The main camera is strong, the face value, texture and hand feel are online, and the weight is controlled at over 190g, but wireless charging, dual speakers and X-axis linear motor are sacrificed. According to the world famous book "A steamed stuffed bun has only stuffing but no soul. What's the difference between that and steamed bun?", the products that dare to choose boldly will inevitably have distinctive advantages and disadvantages, and most of the impressive products are products with such polarized evaluation.
Although the successor is not as fragrant as the old Xshot, the spirit of Xshot in heaven should be pleased.
