Recently, OPPO announced on its official website the launch of a new generation of hybrid optical zoom technology, which uses the design of movable lenses to improve the shooting experience and image quality performance of medium and long focal lengths.
This scheme of OPPO adopts a periscope structure, 7P lens, f/3.3 and f/4.4 variable aperture, equipped with an optical anti shake module, and equipped with a 32 million pixel large bottom sensor (supporting four in one pixels). It realizes continuous and lossless optical zoom from equivalent 85mm to 135mm focal length by high-precision driving IC to control the flexible movement of two groups of lenses.
In addition, combined with multi focus segment image fusion technology, multi camera field angle alignment technology and super division algorithm, hybrid zoom from equivalent 85mm to 280mm can be achieved.
From the comparison of officially released samples, we can see that the continuous optical zoom of the new scheme has made some progress in image quality.

Previously, the supply chain manufacturer Offi Optics also released a periscopic continuous zoom module, which can cover the equivalent 85~170mm focal section. The main significance of this kind of continuous zoom solution is to solve the problem of the loss of image quality between focal sections caused by the relay zoom of multiple fixed focus lenses in the past, as well as the inconsistency of white balance tones of different lens images, The principle is more similar to the zoom lens on professional cameras.
It seems that continuous and lossless light change should be an important driving force for mobile phone manufacturers in cameras next year.
