There are so many news about LCD today. In the morning, it was the news of JDI developing OLED, and in the afternoon, it was Tianma LCD full screen fingerprint. On July 20, it was reported that the screen manufacturer Tianma Microelectronics announced that the world's first LCD screen multi-point fingerprint solution (TFP, TED Finger Print) was officially released, claiming that it has independent intellectual property rights and has met the conditions for mass production.
Tianma's LCD screen fingerprint has two firsts: the world's first LCD screen fingerprint scheme, and the first realization of the 3-in-1 display, touch and fingerprint (TFT display substrate embedded in the fingerprint image sensor).
Tianma uses the optical fingerprint scheme (ultrasonic scheme is also common, represented by Qualcomm, which is used on the Samsung flagship). In addition to the officially claimed proportion of high screens, the technical highlights also include the following:
First of all, it must be multi-point recognition. It can achieve multi-point fingerprint recognition in any area of the full screen. The whole screen can be clicked randomly, which makes up for the weakness that screen fingerprints cannot be touched blindly (the previous vivo APEX series concept machines only achieved half screen fingerprints);
The fingerprint sensor and optical path based on glass substrate cover the whole screen, and the sensor size is not limited, which can realize full screen multi-point fingerprint identification on the full screen;
The normal screen fingerprint module is mounted on the external screen module, while Tianma integrates the optical path modulation unit inside the screen, claiming that the screen thickness is 50% lower than the external collimating light scheme.
Tianma skipped the full screen single point this time, and realized multiple points in the screen at one time. Tianma claims that the multi-point fingerprint scheme in the LCD screen has not only met the conditions for mass production, but also has sent samples to world-famous brands.
What can I do with full screen multi point fingerprint? First of all, set unlock fingerprints for different apps. Just like the gif image, long press the icon to directly unlock. It seems very good. When unlocking, the finger does not need to be raised, nor does it need to stare at the fingerprint identification area.
Show that there is also a bit of brain hole in the gif. The joint account is unlocked with screen fingerprint on the ATM. This operation is more suitable for the launch of nuclear missiles (multiple senior military officers can only launch by pressing their fingerprints together). It is really "a big move".
In addition to making the slogan "LCD is never slave" more loud, LCD screen fingerprint phones that can be unlocked at any click on the full screen will appear soon. Seriously, blind touch is the proper form of screen fingerprint.
However, considering that the flagship is now OLED, the peripheral configuration of this LCD screen fingerprint phone will not be too high even if it comes out (the probability of the appearance of LCD true flagship is too low). In addition, the full screen sensor claimed by Tianma may not be superior in cost, overall thickness and weight. After all, it is inconvenient to make a sensor too large. In fact, reducing the area to half screen unlocking may be more appropriate in terms of cost, power consumption and weight. After all, it is enough to cover the second half of the screen.
Finally, let's recharge our belief: LCD will never be a slave!!!
