12K video! Blackmagic Releases Ursa Mini Pro 12K Camera

Blackmagic Design, an Australian photographic equipment manufacturer, officially released the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K camera on July 17. The monster's specifications are unprecedented. The 80 megapixel Super 35 sensor has a single frame resolution of 12288 x 6480, or 12K, and 800 native ISO has a 14 gear dynamic range. 12K is too clear? You can also choose 110fps 8K or 220fps 4K, is it very comfortable?

URSA Mini Pro 12K, Compared with the previous generation of 4K and 4.6K, the pixels are significantly improved, and the new Blackmagic 5th generation color science and higher Blackmagic RAW performance are available. It uses PL lens bayonet (optional EF and F bayonets), dual CFast (transmission speed up to 900MB/s), UHS-II SD card recorder, SuperSpeed USB-C interface (can be directly recorded to the hard disk) and built-in ND filter.

Blackmagic Design said that it had spent nearly four years on research and development, and the price of the machine was $9995, about 69963 yuan.

At first glance, it sounds very expensive. Looking at the Canon C500 Mark II camera (5.9K full frame CMOS) worth US $15999 (domestic price: 149000 yuan), does it suddenly feel that the URSA Mini Pro 12K is very fragrant?

Normal users, even studios, can't use such a strong monster. But now there are few resources for 8K video, let alone 12K video with a single frame up to 80 million pixels? This is nearly 10 times (9.6 times) of 4K video. However, the purpose of shooting movies and advertising is different. If 12K video is available, there will be a huge amount of cutting space in the later stage of the video, and 12K video can provide content for future VR/AR devices (it is hard to say when VR/AR devices can have this level of resolution...).

In addition to its purpose, 12K video also puts forward higher requirements for the performance and storage of editing equipment. The number of pixels and capacity of 12K video are 10 times higher than that of 4K video. But Blackmagic said that users can use laptops to edit URSA Mini Pro 12K videos (talking about aliens and top game books?)

A priceless picture
