MIUI 12 new function exposure: iOS 14 has similar playing methods

On July 28, it was reported that in a post today, members of XDA, the number one computer industry forum abroad, said that they had found a new function being developed by Xiaomi in the latest MIUI 12 beta: using two or three consecutive taps on the back of the body to achieve corresponding quick operations, such as screen capture, starting the camera, turning on the flashlight, etc.

This function is easily reminiscent of the similar "tap the back" function on iOS 14. By tapping the back of the phone twice or three times, you can achieve screen capture, open the control center, lock the screen and other operations. However, the problem to be solved at present is the high probability of false touch when putting down and picking up the phone.

It is said that Pixel models that will upgrade Android 11 in the future will also have similar functions. The MIUI team may also learn from this function. At least the follow-up speed is quite fast, but it is not clear when the official version users can use it.

Since screen touch has become the number one interaction mode of smart phones, many manufacturers are also exploring more different interaction modes, such as the 3D Touch screen pressure of the iPhone, the pressing of the HTC U Ultra/U11 frame, and the physical or virtual shoulder keys on some game phones. These undoubtedly broaden the interaction dimension of mobile phones and increase playability.
