On April 8, it was reported that recently, Strategy Analytics, a consumer research team, released the latest report Consumer Buying Intention after the Covid-19 Epidemic, which mentioned that a large number of users in China would postpone their plans to buy smartphones next time. The survey recorded the purchase intentions of 1300 smartphone users in China from March 23 to 25. The sample is a little small, so this report is for reference only.

According to statistics, 37% of the people surveyed will postpone the next purchase of smart phones due to the epidemic. In addition, 32% of users plan to upgrade to 5G mobile phones, but will wait and see first. About 28% of the respondents said they would buy a new smartphone as planned, while 9% said they would not buy a new smartphone under any circumstances.

The report also mentioned that 41% of Apple users participating in the survey plan to upgrade to the new iPhone when it is released. According to the data of Strategy Analytics, although the supply chain, factories and retail stores are slowly returning to normal operation, the recovery of consumer demand will take longer and there is no clear time frame.

In order to stimulate consumption, some manufacturers and telecom operators are now launching new products with attractive prices in order to achieve their expected performance.
