On April 2, it was reported that Foxconn officially confirmed that the 5G iPhone they produced was likely to be unveiled at Apple's fall product launch as scheduled.
Foxconn is Apple's main partner in the production of iPhones. Previously, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Foxconn factory was forced to shut down for a month, but now they have resumed normal production. Nevertheless, some people worry that the delay in Foxconn's return to work after the Spring Festival may disrupt the pace of the release of the new iPhone.
Alex Yang, Foxconn's director of investor relations, said that Foxconn was working with Apple's engineers to make up for lost time. However, he later stressed: "If there is further delay in the coming weeks and months, you may have to reconsider the release time, which is still possible."
Normally, the trial production of new iPhones will start in June. This stage is mainly to solve various production problems, and then mass production will be carried out in August to prepare for the release in September. Apple certainly hopes to release the iPhone 12 series on time, because it needs to catch up with competitors in the 5G mobile phone competition.
