On December 5, it was reported that today's Snapdragon 865 is undoubtedly the most popular SoC, but it is not Qualcomm's first SoC integrated with 5G baseband. This title belongs to Snapdragon 765.
As a replacement for the Snapdragon 730, the Snapdragon 765 is made with Samsung's 7nm process. It is also a high-end chip of Qualcomm, lower than the flagship Snapdragon 865. The Snapdragon 765 uses Adreno 620 GPU, and its graphics performance is 20% higher than that of Adreno 618 of the Snapdragon 730, while the stronger Snapdragon 765G is 10% higher than that of the Snapdragon 765.
In terms of CPU, the Snapdragon 765 has a Kryo 475 Prime core (customized based on Cortex-A76) with a main frequency of up to 2.3GHz, a Kryo 475 Gold (customized based on Cortex-A76) at 2.2GHz, and six Kryo 475 Silver (customized based on Cortex-A55) at 1.8GHz. The largest core of the Snapdragon 765G CPU is the 2.4GHz Kryo 475 Prime (customized based on Cortex-A76). The rest is the same as the Snapdragon 765.
These two SoCs of the same series support 2133MHz LPDDR4X running memory. The ISP is Spectra 355, which supports a 192 megapixel camera, a 36 megapixel single camera with zero shutter, or a 22 megapixel dual camera with zero shutter, and can record 4k 30FPS/1080p 120FPS/720p 480FPS video.
Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G integrate X52 baseband. Theoretically, the maximum download speed is 4G 1.2Gbps, 5G 3.7Gbps, and the uplink speed is 4G 210Mbps, 5G 1.6Gbps. It supports sub-6GHz and mmWave bands.
It is reported that the first batch of terminals using Snapdragon 765 will be launched in the first quarter of 2020. There should be a batch of cheaper 5G smart phones, and the first mobile phone equipped with Snapdragon 765G, Redmi K30 5G, will be released on December 10.
