On October 12, it was reported by the New York Times that Huawei may soon re cooperate with American suppliers. Previously, the U.S. authorities issued a ban prohibiting Google from authorizing Huawei to use Google Play services and core apps, such as Google Maps Gmail and YouTube. Therefore, Huawei's recently released Mate 30 series uses the AOSP open source version of Android, Huawei's own application store is built in.
Of course, the Bank of China version has always used Huawei's app store, and only overseas users may not be accustomed to this change.
The New York Times reported that at a meeting held last week, President Trump of the United States ordered relevant officials to "give green light" to some American companies and allow them to cooperate with Huawei. However, some foreign media pointed out that this may not happen in the short term, because Trump said in late June this year that "American companies can sell equipment to Huawei (equipment without major security problems)".
Foreign media said that some American enterprises will obtain licenses to continue trading with Huawei. The license was issued by the US Department of Commerce. A spokesman told the New York Times: "At present, the status quo has not changed."
Despite the ban, some American companies still supply goods to China. Meguiar Technology is a storage chip supplier, and Huawei is its largest customer. In June this year, Meguiar said that after studying the provisions of the physical list, they confirmed that they can legally ship to Huawei, and then re ship to Huawei.
Some foreign media also believe that Huawei may soon obtain the license of Google Play service.
