On September 21, it was reported that Huawei recently released the Mate 30 series. After the conference, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, said to the Android Authority, the foreign media, "China's sales will increase significantly, because this (Mate 30 series) is the most competitive 5G flagship product in the world." Although Huawei expects global sales to decline, it expects strong growth in China's domestic market.
Yu Chengdong believes that more than 20 million Mate 30 series will be sold. Here are his views on global sales and the US ban:
Since the ban in May, our sales volume has declined, but now it has recovered very, very quickly, because consumers like our products. I believe we can sell more than 20 million Mate 30 series.
It is undeniable that the US ban has affected Huawei's mobile phone sales in the world, but in fact Huawei's market share in China has been growing steadily. According to the report of Canalys, a market research organization, Huawei's market share in the second quarter of this year was the highest among Chinese manufacturers in the past eight years.
Huawei has not disclosed when it will launch the Mate 30 series in markets other than China, but we expect that 20 million of them will be mainly sold in China.
