Supply chain: Microsoft Surface Phone can run Android App
Supply chain: Microsoft Surface Phone can run Android App

On June 24, it was reported by Forbes that a device equipped with a foldable screen is expected to be launched in the first half of next year, possibly as early as the first quarter. Do you remember the Microsoft Surface Phone that occasionally has new news in recent years? The newly exposed device is Microsoft Surface Phone.

Jeff Lin, deputy director of IHS Markit, a market research organization, told Forbes that according to the information he obtained from the supply chain, this foldable surface will show a 9-inch screen when it is opened. The machine uses Lakefield SoC with 10nm technology, runs a new version of Windows 10, called WCOS (Windows Core OS), has a built-in dual screen display UI, and supports LTE or 5G. Most importantly, the collapsible surface can run Android App and iCloud in Windows 10.

Earlier this month, The Verge said that Microsoft had demonstrated a dual screen surface device inside the company. The employees of Microsoft headquarters also formed a long queue to have a look at this product. It is said that the product code is Centaurus. According to the report, this foldable tablet is more like the Courier concept tablet released by Microsoft (below).

It is hoped that more foldable devices that can be put into the market on a large scale will appear next year to avoid problems similar to Samsung Galaxy Fold.
