Huawei: TSMC will not stop supplying
Huawei: TSMC will not stop supplying

On May 23, it was reported by foreign media that many American technology companies were stopping business with Huawei, and non American enterprises were also affected by the ban and suspended cooperation with Huawei. Due to the above phenomenon, some netizens are worried about whether TSMC, a major semiconductor manufacturer, will stop OEM to Huawei?

TSMC said in response to this matter recently that after preliminary evaluation, it should be able to meet the export control specifications, and decided not to change the shipment plan to Huawei, and will continue to ship to Huawei, but will continue to observe and evaluate in the future.

Huawei also made a voice through Huawei's official Twitter in North Africa a few days ago, and this account reproduced a relevant report from foreign media, entitled "TSMC believes that it meets the requirements of US export control regulations and will not stop its supply plan to Huawei".

Huawei also stated that it was a false report that the German chip manufacturer Infineon had cut off supplies to Huawei. After the United States imposed export restrictions, the company did not suspend shipments to Huawei.

Recently, foreign media reported that ARM, a chip design company, has suspended cooperation with Huawei. ARM is headquartered in the UK and was acquired by Softbank of Japan. However, an internal memo from ARM shows that the chip design of the company contains "technology from the United States". In addition, ARM has developed some processor designs in Texas and California, which may be the reason why it is restricted by the United States.
