The first beta version of Android Q was officially released in the early morning of March 14. At present, all Pixel phones under Google can experience this latest version.

include:

Love to play computer games The Pixel 2 XL was also upgraded to Android Q through OTA at the first time. Let's take a look at the new features of Android Q this time.

Interface

This time, Android Q has not changed much in the UI interface. What has changed is some small details, such as the icon of some settings interface has changed.

Wi-Fi

It supports scanning QR code to join Wi Fi, and can also share the QR code generated by Wi Fi to others, but it seems that this function is so familiar? At the same time, this upgrade also enhanced the connectivity of the device.

Now to clear a single notification reminder, you can only move it to the right. Moving it to the left is the notification setting. The icon of the clock can set the delay time, and the icon of the ring can set the status of the notification. There is blocking, the notification is displayed but no sound effect is emitted, and the prompt continues. You can also press and hold a single notification to set the status.

Battery

There is no change in the battery interface, but one small detail is how long the battery can be used in the status bar. However, I feel that the remaining time is not very accurate, and the reference value is not great.

Installation interface

The way to install software has changed a lot. In the past, the installation interface was filled with the entire mobile phone interface, but now it has become a pop-up installation. Not only that, many interaction methods on Android Q have become pop-up. Personally, the pop-up interface is more simple.

file management

The interface of file management has changed a lot. The overall interface is more integrated with the system. The design of the top search bar can be said to be very "Google". Most of Google's software is basically designed in this way. There are file type classifications below the search bar. You can call out directories by drawing to the right on the left screen edge. There are still file type classifications on the top. In general, The file management interface is really convenient to use.

Accent color

In addition to the default settings, there are three colors to choose from: black, green, and purple. After the color is selected, the color of the highlighted part in the system will become the color you choose. For example, if the author selects green, the system drop-down control center, and some reminders will become green.

Sharing interface

Google has given this sharing function a new name "Sharing Shortcut", which can be judged according to the content shared by users, and then jump to the relevant application sharing, but this function seems to be familiar.

Text Selection

When you select text, the system will give vibration feedback, but the premise is that you need to turn on the touch vibration option in the setting. Personally, this function works with the linear motor, which is really pleasant. When you select text, it is like turning a gear, and the user experience is excellent.

position

For the new software location access rights management, there are three options: always allow, only allow during the use of the application, and deny. This undoubtedly improves the security of user privacy and prevents some software from secretly obtaining your location information in the background.

Global Dark Mode

As for the global dark mode, there is no such option in Beta 1 (it is mainly incomplete, and Google said it will launch it after it is perfected), but it can be opened through the ADB command. There are related commands in XDA:

If you want to enable dark mode, enter: adb shell settings put secure ui_night_mode 2

If you want to disable dark mode, enter: adb shell settings put secure ui_night_mode  1

If you want to set it to auto, enter: adb shell settings put secure ui_night_mode 0

After opening, only the settings, pull-down control center, application drawer, file management, and phone have global dark mode, and other applications have not yet been adapted.

Native screen recording

Android Q also supports screen recording. The way to open it is a bit deep. In the function tag in the developer options, open the settings screenrecord long press option, and then long press the power key. A screenshot will appear on the right. Then long press the screenshot option, and the system will pop up the pop-up window to start recording.

other

In the main interface of Pixel Launcher, after the icon is removed, cancellation is added; Press and hold the power key for a long time, and an emergency call option is added. I don't know if I have found it carefully. This time, all the screenshots are with rounded corners, which is also a new feature of Android Q. The screenshots are with rounded corners or bangs.

Little egg

In Android Q Beta1, the egg is still the same as the Android P, but when we click the screen 7 times, the system will jump to a graffiti interface. I wonder if this is a new egg.

summary

In general, Android Q has not changed much in the UI interface this time. The main changes are: the performance of ART has been improved, the new API interface supports Vukan 1.1 graphic API, improves the application startup speed and reduces the memory occupation; Pay more attention to user privacy and security; AV1 video codec is added; Optimize folding screen split mode, etc. Last note: ordinary users do not recommend upgrading Android Q Beta1. After we upgrade, many software will flash back.
