It no longer needs the 9999 display screen. It can achieve similar functions with a common switch. Maybe it is Hammer that has heard the feedback from consumers to improve, or maybe it is an update iteration of the TNT product. Anyway, the actual experience is what we care about most.

TNT first experience

According to the official recommendation, TNT can achieve similar experience with TNT workstation through external touch screen, and also support traditional keyboard and mouse control. Since we don't have a touchable display screen on hand, we have an external LG 4K display screen. At the same time, Bluetooth is connected to keyboard and mouse for control.

After the external display screen is connected, the TNT of Hammer Technology will automatically switch to the display status of the large screen, which is similar to Samsung DeX, and is based on Android itself. Although they all switch from the mobile end to the desktop end, TNT is different from Motorola's Atrix 4G switch to the Ubuntu system or Microsoft Lumia 950's Continuum mode in terms of implementation.

The main interface of TNT can only be said to be worthy of the reputation of acquiring Apple's Hammer, which is similar to MacOS in many aspects, such as the top bar, Dock bar and file manager. Users who use Mac everyday have a strong sense of familiarity. At the same time, in order to make up for the lack of 10 buttons on the left and right sides of the TNT workstation in the ordinary display, these shortcuts are set on the left and right sides of the Dock bar. The author personally feels that if it is a key mouse operation, it is better to refer to the Windows Start Menu and integrate it into it; If it is for touch optimization, it is more harmonious to directly integrate big icons into the Dock bar.

Fortunately, TNT performs well in adapting windows. Opening and dragging various apps is similar to our common Windows and MacOS, which is much better than its predecessors. Thanks to the progress of science and technology, the performance of the Snapdragon 845 now makes TNT more fluent than Moto and Lumia, and it is very smooth for light operation. Of course, because of the performance limit of mobile SoC, the smoothness after opening too many apps cannot be compared with that of ordinary PCs. Please use it moderately.

For the software part, we can directly open the installed apps in the TNT large screen mode, and the data is also synchronized directly. Except that several apps provided by the system have been adapted for TNT, the rest can only be used in the same size window as the mobile phone. The apps on the mobile end are basically not optimized for large screens. This limitation has kept the user's experience to a certain extent, but they all use a 27 inch or 30 inch large screen, but they still need to operate on a 5 inch or 6 inch area, which does not give full play to the advantages of large screens. The advantage is that the desktop can be tiled with a lot of apps (laugh).

The built-in browser can be said to be the best one among many apps to experience on TNT. The perfect adaptation of drag, zoom and so on allows you to achieve the same operation as the PC, and the default page opened is also the PC side, making full use of the advantages of the large screen. To mention the shortcomings, it is impossible to install common browser plug-ins, and some websites have the problem of jumping to mobile terminals.

In the use of TNT, voice interaction prompts can be seen everywhere - you can click this icon anywhere you can enter text, and then input text directly by voice; Or press in the blank section to trigger the voice recognition of the system. As we all know, iFLYTEK, as a partner of Hammer Technology, has a very high accuracy and reliability of voice input. As a text input, there is no problem.

However, in the case of keyboard and mouse, it is less efficient to select voice input. At the same time, it is not particularly appropriate to make voice in the office environment. At this time, it seems a bit awkward for users. If you switch to a touchable display screen and discard the keyboard and mouse, the TNT Touch&Talk operation is much more suitable. It seems that the current speech recognition in the test only supports the quick opening of the app, and cannot perform higher-level operations. To search, you have to click the bottom button separately. Compared with the voice assistant of other manufacturers, its function is slightly weaker.

In the short use, the most impressive thing about TNT is voice search. One input can realize the results of multiple search sources, which is very useful for finding completely unfamiliar things. Hammer also provides dozens of different search sources for customization. The first reaction of the author to the simultaneous display of multiple search results is that it can be used for keyword search papers to quickly look up different literatures, but it meets some shortcomings of this voice search.

First, for the time being, only voice can be used for input search, which is not particularly suitable in the public environment. I hope that keyboard and mouse input can be provided later; Second, the search source can only use the built-in search source of the system, and cannot be customized. In a disguised way, the author's idea of finding different documents through a keyword has been broken (because the built-in search source of the system does not have a relevant paper library).

TNT light office

At the press conference in May, Lao Luo claimed that TNT would redefine the personal computer in the next decade, not to mention whether it could be realized. Let's see how much the current TNT can improve office efficiency. Since TNT is essentially an Android system, there is no professional software on Windows and MacOS, such as Adobe Family Bucket and CAD. Those who need such professional software for daily work can be abandoned. In fact, what TNT may meet at present is just some light office work.

My daily work is in contact with Office, PS and some other software. Because there are more word processing, I have a long time to deal with Office and writing software. On TNT, the Markdown like writing software JotterPad and pure writing can run, but as mentioned above, they can only be used within the size of the phone, which is slightly embarrassing. The only exception is the Hammer Memo, which can scale freely. It can be said that it can replace Markdown's writing software on TNT.

As for Office, the Hammer Office, which was mentioned in the press conference in May, has not yet been provided, so Microsoft's mobile Office or WPS should be used for the time being. Compared with other mobile apps, Office and WPS can be used in full screen, which is good. However, the whole interface is basically the mobile version with direct amplification, and the functions are only limited to what the mobile version can provide. Emergency viewing or editing is OK, but it seems powerless to deal with a complete document.

In the image processing part, there are many powerful apps on today's mobile terminals, such as Snapped, VSCO, etc. But because TNT can only work in the size space of mobile phones or tablets for apps without adaptation, don't you really feel tired when processing images? What's the use of this external large screen? This is the embarrassment I felt when I used TNT to process pictures.

In fact, TNT is used for light office work, and the author personally believes that "it is not impossible to use" is the most appropriate description. All kinds of apps on the Android system can basically meet the needs of ordinary light office, and TNT can also run normally. It is no problem to achieve functions, but the experience is not necessarily satisfactory. If your needs can be achieved with the hammer's own app adapted to TNT, then you may try. In addition, I think it is necessary to mention that in the process of using TNT, sometimes the keyboard and mouse do not respond or have serious delay, and there have been cases where there is no candidate word in the input method. Whenever this happens, I always feel that TNT has "voice input".
