LPDDR5/UFS 3.0 is about to be mass produced, and Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to debut

Love to play computer games On July 2, it was reported that some foreign media recently said that the new LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0 ROM and SD Express memory cards would be applied to smart phones and gradually popularized.

First, look at LPDDR5. Foreign media claim that its speed can reach 6400Mbps, while LPDDR4X is 4266Mbps. The speed of the new RAM chip can be increased by 50%. Previously, Xinsi Technology disclosed that LPDDR5 would add WCK differential clock to improve the frequency without adding pins. In addition, LPDDR5 also adds Link ECC to support data recovery in case of transmission errors.

It is reported that the voltage of LPDDR5 is the same as that of LPDDR4X, but the current decreases by 40% when it is idle.

The progress of UFS 3.0 is faster. Its standard has been determined. The maximum speed reaches 2900MB/s, which is 1.4 times faster than that of UFS 2.1.

As for the SD Express memory card, the maximum capacity of the SDUC card can be increased to 128TB, and the speed can reach 985MB/s.

According to the Android Authority, Samsung may announce to start mass production of LPDDR5 in the second half of this year, while UFS 3.0 flash memory chips for smart phones and tablets will be popularized in 2019. Samsung should take the lead in mass production of these two memory chips, so the Galaxy S10 may be the first to taste.
