At the Taipei Computer Show in early June 2018, Qualcomm officially released the Snapdragon 850 processor. Although it is an ARM processor for Win10 notebooks, it is still a low-power product.
According to the report of WinFuture, Qualcomm has actually started to develop a more powerful PC processor - Snapdragon 1000. The Snapdragon 1000 is more advanced than the Snapdragon 850. Its power consumption is up to 12W. It can support up to 16GB LPDDR4X memory and dual 128GB UFS 2.1 modules. According to the official introduction, the previous Snapdragon 850 has improved its performance by 30% and endurance by 20% compared with the Snapdragon 835. This time, the Snapdragon 1000 will surely have a greater upgrade.
The power consumption of the Snapdragon 1000 is 12W, which is only 3W lower than the TDP of the eighth generation Core U series. If Qualcomm wants to gain an advantage in Intel's competition, the performance level of the Snapdragon 1000 must also be close to that of the eighth generation Core U series.
