HMD Nokia has raised more than 100 million dollars, becoming a unicorn company

According to Bloomberg, HMD, the manufacturer of Nokia mobile phones, announced that it had obtained more than $100 million in the latest round of financing. At present, HMD's market value has exceeded $1 billion, so HMD has become a unicorn company. Unicorn companies generally refer to those companies whose value is more than $1 billion in the investment community shortly after their establishment.

It is reported that HMD released the Nokia X6 on May 16, which is the first model of Nokia's new X series and is specially customized for the Chinese market. Its price is 1299 yuan, which is close to the price performance of Hongmi mobile phones. However, Juho Sarvikas (Shao Youhao), chief product officer of HMD, suggested recently that Nokia X6 would be sold overseas in order to meet the needs of foreign users.

In addition, HMD has set up Nokia Mobile Global Future Laboratory in Shenzhen, which mainly develops cutting-edge technologies, including 5G technology, new materials and new processes, imaging technology and future mobile experience, to provide technical reserves for Nokia mobile phones. Shao Youhao is in charge of the laboratory. In addition to the future laboratory, Nokia Mobile has two research and development teams in Helsinki and London.
