According to Bloomberg, a source said that TSMC has started mass production of new processors for the new iPhone released this fall.

The source revealed that the new processor should be named A12 (which seems to be a well-known thing). A12 uses a 7-nanometer process, so compared with A11 chip using 10 nanometer technology, it has lower power consumption, higher efficiency, faster speed, and may also reduce the chip area.

After learning this news, Bloomberg subsequently interviewed TSMC of Apple, but spokesmen of both parties refused to comment on this matter. It seems that the news of mass production of A12 may be true. In April this year, TSMC announced that it had started to produce 7nm processors, but did not disclose which company it was OEM for. From the current situation, Apple mobile phones should be the first to use the 7nm processor, while Samsung and Huawei's Kirin 980 will follow suit. It is rumored that Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processors also use the 7nm process.

Guo Mingxuan, an Apple analyst, said earlier that Apple would launch three new iPhones in the second half of this year, with screen sizes of 5.8 inches, 6.1 inches and 6.5 inches respectively. The 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch new iPhones may be named iPhone XI and iPhone XI Plus, which use OLED screens, while the 6.1-inch new iPhones are cheaper and use LCD screens. If not unexpected, these three new opportunities are equipped with A12 chip.
