On May 25, it was reported that today, China Mobile announced the China Mobile Inside plan of intelligent IoT and launched the first mobile eSIM chip. It is reported that the chip, named C417M, is jointly developed by China Mobile and Unisplendor Zhanrui and is a self owned brand product.
The C417M has the China Mobile eSIM function and supports over the air card writing, OneNET protocol and LTE-TDD CAT4. The chip is packaged with BGA and can work in the environment of - 40 ℃~85 ℃. China Mobile said that the C417M can minimize the size of the device and improve the stability of the chip. ESIM chips can be applied to various IoT devices, such as UAVs, smart homes and smart meters.
In addition to China Mobile, China Unicom is also laying out eSIM. In March this year, China Unicom took the lead in launching the "eSIM One Dual Terminal" business in Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou and Changsha. After the user handles this service, he can answer the phone on any terminal that supports this technology, and it is no problem if the mobile phone is not around. Apple's new accessory Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS+cellular network) watch became the first product supporting China Unicom's "eSIM No. 1 dual terminal".
