On the morning of May 24, Qualcomm held an artificial intelligence innovation forum in Beijing. At the meeting, Qualcomm officially released the Snapdragon 710 processor. The Snapdragon 7 series is the second flagship in Qualcomm's mobile processor series after the 8 series. We can also consider the Snapdragon 710 as an upgraded version of Snapdragon 660.

Snapdragon 710 adopts Samsung's second-generation 10nm LPP process. According to Qualcomm, its CPU is Kryo 360, which uses a 2+6 architecture. The frequency of two large cores is 2.2GHz, and the frequency of six small cores is 1.7GHz. It shares L3 three-level cache with Snapdragon 845. The GPU of Snapdragon 710 is Adreno 616. Compared with Snapdragon 660, the power consumption of mobile devices using Snapdragon 710 can be reduced by 40% when playing games and playing 4K HDR videos, and by 20% when streaming videos. With Kryo 360 CPU, the overall performance of Snapdragon 710 is 20% higher than that of Snapdragon 660, and the speed of browsing web pages is 25% higher. In addition, like the Snapdragon 845, the Snapdragon 710 supports QC 4+fast charging technology, which can charge 50% of the device's power in 15 minutes.

In terms of photography, Snapdragon 710 is equipped with a Spectra 250 ISP, which is more powerful than the Spectra 160 of Snapdragon 660 with lower power consumption. It supports up to 32 million pixels of single shot and 20 million pixels of dual shot, and supports multi frame noise reduction, active depth sensing, slow motion video, video noise reduction, depth portrait mode and active depth sensing for face recognition.

Snapdragon 710 is equipped with Snapdragon X15 LTE modem, which supports a download rate of up to 800 Mbps (LTE Cat. 15), and supports 4x4 MIMO technology and license assisted access. In addition, the chip also supports 2x2 WiFi (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5, Qualcomm TrueWireless stereo and other technologies.

In terms of AI, the Snapdragon 710 is equipped with a multi-core AI engine to improve users' photo taking and voice experience. Its AI performance is twice that of the Snapdragon 660. In addition, it also supports Google's ARCore, bringing high-performance immersive and real AR applications.

Qualcomm said that a consumer terminal equipped with Snapdragon 710 would be launched in the second quarter of 2018. Previous revelations showed that Xiaomi had a product that used the chip. Of course, OPPO and vivo are also very likely to use Snapdragon 710 in their high-end mobile phones.
