Liu Haiping's comprehensive screen, offline fingerprint unlocking, and other new functional features are also constantly improving the requirements for mobile phone screens. Although LCD liquid crystal can achieve some functions at present, it combines thickness, energy consumption, and experience. OLED material screens are the first choice for mobile phone manufacturers!

On the OLED small and medium-sized screen panel, Samsung is undoubtedly the absolute leader, and still a lot ahead! However, with the continuous progress of Chinese and Japanese manufacturers, it is quite likely that they will compete with Samsung for jobs.

A few days ago, according to the data report of IHS Markit, a well-known data research institution, it is expected that in the near future, China will become the main force in the shipment of small and medium-sized AMOLED panels!

According to the chart, in 2016, the new capacity of mobile phone AMOLED panel in South Korea reached 250000 m2 per month! Japan also has 50000 ㎡ per month, while China has only about 10000 ㎡ per month.

By 2017, the pattern of new production capacity had changed. South Korea continued to rise, with an estimated monthly production capacity of more than 300000 m2, while China ranked second after Japan, with a monthly production capacity of 150000 m2, and Japan declined.

By 2018, neither South Korea nor Japan has built a new mobile phone AMOLED production line, while China has seized the opportunity to put 260000 ㎡ into production!

In 2019, an additional 270000 m2 will be put into production, and in 2020, 170000 m2 will be put into production, surpassing South Korea for three consecutive years!

It is reported that Samsung's failure to increase AMOLED production capacity is mainly related to the mobile phone market. According to Samsung's prediction, the sales of smart phones in the next few years will be a downward trend, so Samsung is unwilling to build new production capacity. Although AMOLED does have a certain market growth capacity, it still gave up because of its own price factors.
