Recently, Samsung Electronics officially confirmed that Samsung is preparing to build a new semiconductor factory in South Korea, which can be used to produce various flash memory chips such as memory and flash memory.
Samsung has owned a large factory in Pingze City, and has started mass production of NAND flash memory particles since mid-2017. According to Samsung's official disclosure, the initial investment of existing factories is expected to be 15.6 trillion won, and the total investment of factories is expected to reach 30 trillion won (about 175 billion yuan) by 2021!
The new factory Samsung is temporarily called P2 Project, which is not far from the old factory of Samsung. It is reported that the investment in the new factory is up to 30 trillion won (about 175 billion yuan)! But it is not clear whether the initial investment is so much or the total investment. But at present, the new factory has just started, and there should be additional ones in the future, right?
It is worth noting that, Samsung's new factory this time is capable of producing both memory and flash memory! However, Samsung has not decided which one to do first. It is estimated that market demand will ultimately decide.
The new factory is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2019, so Samsung will decide whether to produce memory or flash memory by the end of this year. After all, it takes time to purchase, manufacture and run in equipment.
At present, the memory market is still in a tight market. The new factory should also focus on memory. As long as the amount of memory increases, the price will drop.
Of course, if Samsung has to control market supply and demand, there is nothing we can do. After all, interviews don't work.
