Fairy fight, foreign media S9+/Note 8/iPhone/Pixel photo comparison
Fairy fight, foreign media S9+/Note 8/iPhone/Pixel photo comparison

After Samsung replaced Apple's iPhone as the mobile phone photo benchmark, every generation of Samsung has become a regular customer of photo PK. This year's Galaxy S9+has updated CMOS, although it is still a 1/2.55-inch sensor with 1.4 μ m unit pixels, supporting full pixel dual core focusing and optical anti shake. This new sensor adds DRAM, which can support more violent multi frame synthesis and 960fps slow motion photography. For the lens, Samsung has added the ability to switch between F1.5 and F2.4 aperture. The final result is a high score record of 104 points in DxOMark's static photography test.

But in fact, how does Samsung S9+compare with its predecessor, iPhone X and Pixel 2 XL? For this reason, foreign media conducted a simple test on their night photos. There are four scenarios in total, but in fact, although S9+can slightly outperform the previous generation and has certain advantages over iPhone X and Pixel 2 XL, the range is far smaller than expected.

This one is the one with the biggest gap. The image brightness and noise smudging of Samsung Galaxy S9+are the best.

Samsung's own two machines still show obvious differences in white balance and metering

The focus of this demo is HDR tolerance. Pixel 2 XL won without suspense, while S9+'s performance is close to Note8's.
