Although some renderings have been released, there is no reliable HTC U12 appearance information so far. It was not until January 29, at the founding conference of Taiwan's "5G Industry Development Alliance - China Telecom Pilot Team", that HTC used the new flagship HTC U12 as the on-site network speed tester, which really exposed the new flagship.
In this conference, HTC is mainly to show new network technology. At the same time, the VR all-in-one Focus (equipped with Snapdragon 835) and the new HTC Vive PRO, which are shipped in China, also appeared.
The protagonist of this activity is a demonstration tool of LAA (Licensed Assisted Access) technology, which can integrate the existing LTE and open WiFi frequency bands, and carry out carrier convergence through CA carrier aggregation to achieve higher network speed. The on-site demonstrator also ran 809.58Mbps in the downlink and 49.87Mbps in the uplink, reaching 1Gbps baseband speed.
Because it is impossible for HTC to use Exynos and Kirin, and there are only X16 and X20 basebands at the 1Gbps level of Qualcomm, there are either Snapdragon 835 or 845. If it is a Snapdragon 845, it is likely to be the HTC U12, but it is not ruled out that this is another Snapdragon 835 left by HTC.
The glass radians on both sides of the machine are large, which makes it feel like a curved screen. However, even though the 18:9 full screen is used, the upper and lower frames of the HTC are relatively thick, and the overall outline is like a U11+with a narrowed frame. Even if the sticker is pasted and the phone case is taken, it can be seen that the body is relatively thin.
