Qualcomm officially launched Snapdragon 845 in the early morning of December 7. We went to the on-site experience area to feel the charm of this flagship SoC.
On the afternoon of the launch day of Snapdragon 845, Qualcomm opened the DEMO experience area at the event site, which mainly displayed the power control, security, QC4+fast charging, 1.2Gbps high-speed network, high-quality Bluetooth playback, XR experience and other contents of Snapdragon 845, as well as the display of the handset equipped with Snapdragon 835.
Dragon 845 DEMO experience
The first one on the scene is a Xiaolong 845 engineering machine, which is like a small black brick in size. At first, it is used for debugging. The machine body has rich interfaces, mainly used to show system security, network, power consumption and other purposes. The security exhibition area mainly shows that the devices of Snapdragon 845 can be combined with a variety of biometrics to achieve higher security encryption, for example, users can combine iris, fingerprint, face and other information together.
From the side, the thickness of this engineering machine is much higher than that of ordinary mobile phones.
Xiaolong 845 has a low proportion of engineering machine screens, with iris recognition and face recognition functions, and uses virtual keys.
This engineering machine adopts the design of a single camera and has multiple coaxial interfaces on the back for testing baseband and WiFi.
There are multiple two microUSB and one Type-C interface on the side of the fuselage, with two cascading card slots.

This engineering machine is based on Android 8.0 system. The security patch is November 5. The internal model of Snapdragon 845 is SDM845.
The on-site demonstration machine was also connected with two Bluetooth headsets from B&W and Iron Triangle.

In addition to Bluetooth audio, Snapdragon 845 also provides good support for voice interaction devices, in which Qualcomm Aqstic audio system plays a very important role. This system can effectively suppress noise and improve voice recognition ability.
Next is the highlight. The X20 LTE baseband has a theoretical peak of 1.2Gbps, and the field test can reach 1.17Gbps (LTE Cat. 18 standard). However, this also requires the cooperation of the operator. It is a long way off to use such a high network speed in China.
The Snapdragon 845 uses the Samsung 10nm LPP FinFET process, with the new architecture, to bring more excellent power consumption control. On site demonstration, test GFXBench Manhattan open screen test, and lock 30 frames, the power consumption of the Snapdragon 845 is about 30% lower than that of the Snapdragon 835, and the improvement is obvious.
In terms of high-definition video playback, Snapdragon 845 also saves more power than Snapdragon 835 and Snapdragon 660.
The Snapdragon 845 supports Quick Charge 4+(QC4+) fast charging like the previous generation products. However, since the Snapdragon 835 was launched so long ago, only the Z17 and Z17s of Nubia claimed to support this technology. The power adapter supporting this technology has not been launched yet. However, the screen parameters are a big highlight. The 5.7 inch 2560 * 1440 IGZO screen, whose panel is from Sharp, supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which is the highest in mobile phones.
The system is based on Android 7.1.1, and the overall style is very close to native Android.
Another highlight of Razer Phone is that it has 8G Ram. Unfortunately, as a mobile phone targeted by "Game Phone", it only has 64G Rom.
