I don't know when the DIY world began to roll up a gust of RGB. The chassis, fans, radiators, and even video cards and memory are all equipped with RGB light effects. Today, the Cool MasterCase H500P is one of them.
Chassis appearance display
The MasterCase H500P is a new kind of mid tower chassis with built-in RGB launched by Cool Extreme. It supports the E-ATX motherboard at the highest level, and the package is naturally large.
The biggest highlight on the front of the chassis is the two 20CM fans on the front with 16.7 million color light effects, which support the mainstream ASUS AURA, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and Huaqing RGB light effects. The front of the chassis is a transparent gray acrylic plate, which, together with the internal fan, has a striking visual effect.
The front panel interface is relatively conventional, with dual USB3.0+dual USB2.0, earphone and microphone jack, a cool logo shaped power button and restart button.
There are many mesh openings on the top cover and front cover of the fuselage for air circulation.
There are gray transparent acrylic plates on the front and top of the fuselage. The fans on the top need to be added by themselves. The fans exhaust through the side openings. Both covers are very easy to remove, but because they are too easy to remove, they are often rubbed off carelessly when handling the chassis. It would be better if they could be slightly reinforced.
After removing the front panel, we can see two exaggerated 20cm fans on the front panel.
There are slots for 12CM fans and 14CM fans on the top, which can support up to 360MM cold exhaust. If two 14CM fans are installed (the 14CM fan of Limin is used here, which is slightly larger than the conventional one, and the hole of 12CM fan is used, which is special), it will appear slightly crowded. It would be better if it can support 420CM cold exhaust.
Another feature of the chassis is a whole tempered glass panel on the left, through which you can clearly see the contents of the chassis.
The glass panel is fixed by a screw, and we can use coins to easily open and lock it.
The opening method is also special. Open the side panel by turning it over from above.
The right side of the fuselage is a metal panel.
There is only one power cooling opening at the bottom of the chassis. Of course, it is also equipped with a quick release dust screen, which is common in high-end power supplies.
There are multiple armors inside the chassis to facilitate line management and meet the visual needs of "obsessive-compulsive disorder". Even a sliding hard disk cover is added to the hard disk. This design is really a bit exaggerated.
Open the right panel of the chassis, you can see a large piece of wire management armor. There is also a plastic hole cover at the CPU. In addition to it, other armor in the chassis is metal.
Two covers on the back of the fuselage.
The armor of the power supply and the hard disk. The former is printed with the Cool Cool Ultimate logo for increasing belief, and there are two 2.5mm solid state disk installation slots on the top to facilitate the use of multiple hard disk users.
There are two 3.5mm mechanical hard disk slots under the hard disk armor at the bottom of the chassis, that is, the whole machine can insert a total of four hard disks, which may not be enough for some users with extreme storage requirements. Of course, with the exception of local tyrants, they can continue to stack M.2 and PCI-E hard disks
After removing various armors, it can be seen that the interior space of the chassis is relatively spacious, and the air duct design is also very reasonable. The chassis is attached with a front dual fan and a rear exhaust fan.
There are many hollows in the case for convenient line management. The case supports Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX, E-ATX and other motherboards.
Installation display
We installed other accessories to see the overall effect. The i7 6800K+X99 motherboard was installed. The fan also used Limin's Silver Arrow IB-E Extreme. This is a heat sink with a height of 16.3CM, which is enough to prove that the H500P has enough space. Since it does not have too many hard disk brackets, it also has high support for the long video card.
The wire management armor plays a very good shielding role. After the machine is installed, the back is very clean, and the visual effect looks very good. It is estimated that the customized module line will have a better effect.
The power supply installation location is very spacious, so it is not a problem to install various extended power supplies. Due to the existence of the hard disk rack, the chassis itself does not provide a location for the lower fan.
The highlight of the position of the rear panel is that there are two PCI holes at the position of the regular PCI slot, which are inverted 90 °. The intention is obvious. It is to show off your high-end video card. Another advantage is that when installing the video card in this way, if you install a large air-cooled heat sink, it can to some extent prevent them from being "enthusiastic" because they are too close.
The tempered glass panel on the side gives a very domineering feeling. Since the top and front are light transparent, it is especially suitable for some users who love light pollution. What we show here is too low-key.
The acrylic board on the top can directly see the accessories in the chassis, which is very sexy. However, this acrylic board is not easy to handle, and it is too easy to scratch.
You need to talk about it before you show the lighting effect, Although the H500P chassis is equipped with two 20cm large RGB fans, its RGB light cannot be turned on without the corresponding light controller, which means that if you do not have the corresponding equipment, you need to buy an RGB light controller (the controller in the figure is from Blizzard T610P RGB) to turn on, It is still a little expensive to make it bright.
After connecting the RGB light controller to the 4pin power supply, connect the two large fans on the front of the chassis through the "1 to 3" adapter cable dedicated to the RGB light attached to the chassis. In addition, you can connect another device to control and synchronize the light. With the help of a 20cm fan and the "amazing technology" of acrylic panels, the light effect of the H500P is much cooler than that of ordinary chassis. The only thing to note is that the front panel and top panel should be well protected. They are really fragile.
Through the switch on the controller, we can switch different light effects and brightness. Similarly, if the motherboard and graphics card with RGB light effects are installed in the chassis, we can give them control. We can directly switch the light effects through software, which will be more convenient to use.
The front panel also has a cool logo.
RGB multi color light effect display.
RGB multi color flashing display.
Single color flashing light effect display. Since we use the controller of Cool Cool Blizzard T610P RGB to achieve the synchronization of light effects, we can obtain limited light effects (6 modes, 7 monochromes can be adjusted separately). If we cooperate with the motherboard/graphics card with RGB light effects, it is estimated that the playing methods will be more diversified.
summary
The Cool Cool MasterCase H500P is a chassis with distinctive features. It is born for lighting and cool. The front double 20cm RGB fan, perfect wire management armor, reasonable air duct setting and side tempered glass panel are its plus points. However, in use, special attention should be paid to the need to match the corresponding RGB device to activate its RGB light, and at the same time, attention should be paid to the protection of the two acrylic panels. Compared with the general chassis, the H500P needs to take into account the display of the two large fans in the front and the air duct, so it directly omits the position of the 5.25-inch drive, which may affect some users with special optical drive needs (although such people have basically disappeared). In addition, the chassis itself only provides two 2.5-inch solid state hard disk boxes and two 3.5-inch mechanical hard disk bits, which may not be enough for some storage experts. However, if you are a player who does not have high appeal requirements, but puts face value first, or a "light pollution" enthusiast, then MasterCase H500P believes that it can meet you well.
