In 2011, the first generation of DDR4 memory was introduced, but now DDR5 has finally arrived, and the era of DDR4 is coming to an end. Recently, Rambus announced that they have successfully produced DDR5 memory, with the highest frequency of 6400MHz.
The I/O bandwidth of DDR5 memory will be up to 6.4GGbp, the total bandwidth is 51.2GB/s, 16bit, and the working voltage is 1.1V. Its performance is almost twice that of DDR4 today. Although DDR4 was launched in 2011, it was not until 2015 that DDR4 memory began to be officially popularized. Now DDR5 is just launched, which is still a long way from its mass production and popularization. At this stage, neither AMD nor Intel supports DDR5 memory products.
