1、 Appearance:
The packing box of E3 is very simple, white with black on the front, highlighting the product photos printed on the front, and some product related information on the back. The contents of the package are also relatively simple. In addition to the E3, there are instructions, warranty cards, a card and a mirror handkerchief. I have installed an accessory on the E3 body as shown in the figure above, which I will mention later.
The overall appearance of the E3 is very scientific, and the white with black is also very simple and elegant. The front white panel is printed with the words "DPVR", and there is a hidden blue LED LOGO light in the middle above the "DPVR", which flashes every few seconds when connected to the computer, indicating that E3 is powered on, which also increases the sense of technology and recognition of E3 to a certain extent.
The part I said that I couldn't see in the picture is that E3 provides a sponge pad at the back of the head, which is glued to E3 by velcro. The expansion of the sponge pad is very good. It can automatically squeeze and fit according to the head shape of different people, greatly improving the wearing comfort.
There are two telescopic connecting rods on both sides of E3, which can be telescoped to adapt to different head shapes, and it is also very convenient to wear. Moreover, this design makes E3 wear more closely to the head, without shaking and displacement.
The facial sponge pad of E3 is also very ergonomic. In order to adapt to the players wearing glasses (it seems that most players wear glasses), a gap is made on the left and right sides of the facial sponge pad. In order to prevent the hot air exhaled from the nose from rising to the inside of the helmet and forming water mist on the lens, a piece of silicone film fitting the nose is specially added at the bridge of the nose. Of course, since it is a VR helmet, the fuselage naturally has corresponding manholes to dissipate heat for the helmet.
E3 is equipped with Fresnel lens. The pupil distance range is 54mm-74mm, the FOV angle is 110 degrees, the built-in screen is Samsung 5.7 inch AMOLED soft light eye protection screen (2560x1440), the refresh rate is 70Hz, and the body is equipped with distance sensors, gravity sensors, compass, gyroscope, which are necessary sensors for VR helmets. Of course, there is also a microphone on the body, which can be used for voice interaction.
The data cable of E3 is three in one (HDMI/USB power supply/USB data), and the material is very solid. For playing games with a helmet, the cable will be easily worn.
E3 audio provides a 3.5mm headphone jack, so we need to connect related audio equipment.

Let's talk about wearing comfort first. The weight of E3 is only 297g (excluding headband and cable). In addition, the headband and cable are about 432g, which is very light compared with the 632g of HTC VIVE and 525g of Dapeng E2. In addition, the sponge pads at the back of the head and the front of the face, the front fall and compression of E3 is not strong
E3 has a special PC terminal - Dapeng VR Assistant. Players can easily play it by downloading and installing Dapeng VR Assistant after accessing E3 to a PC, which reduces the learning cost of players, but the richness of content still needs to be strengthened.
There is a special performance test tool on the official website. In fact, after installing the Dapeng VR Assistant, the VR Assistant has already taken this function. In the upper right corner of the interface, you can perform performance tests on the PC connected to E3. I have tried several PCs, and this detection can only be used as a reference, which suggests that it is not necessarily impossible to play VR games, but the experience may not be so smooth and the picture may not be so perfect.
The game center of Dapeng VR assistant is rich in games, including steam and Dapeng. Steam needs to install Steam and SteamVR to run. In fact, it is a link to Steam. Many games here are just trial versions (the official version needs soft coins). Dapeng can download and install directly to start playing.
The film and television center is a place to watch videos. There are panoramic and 3D videos. Panorama is a true VR (360 degree) video. However, the resolution of many panoramic videos in the center is not high enough. They don't look very clear, but they look really impressive. My favorite is "Shanghai VR".
3D video is what we have been exposed to before, such as left/right/top/bottom format. When we see it in E3, it is a simulation of a personal cinema. In front of us, there is a screen as big as a cinema version.
Film and Television Center page The "Immersion Mode" in the upper right corner is actually to let the VR assistant turn on the VR mode, so that the user can directly control the video on demand with the E3 head without clicking the mouse.
