Parameters and analysis

Meizu PRO 7 tried dual photography for the first time, using the black and white dual photography scheme. The main photography is still IMX386, but the previous generation of ring flash and laser focusing have been canceled. The positive factor of PRO 7 imaging is the accumulation of MediaTek in the field of black and white dual photography. The negative factor is the lack of optical anti shake. The lack of laser focusing will also slightly affect the focusing speed near the weak light, but the problem is not serious.

Xiaomi 6 and one plus 5 use the telephoto dual camera scheme. Among them, Xiaomi6 has also moved to the same IMX286/386 camp as Huawei/Glory/Meizu, but it still retains optical anti shake. The active life of IMX286/386 is far longer than expected, and it is one of the longest flagship CMOS after IMX214/258. In addition, there are not many new products in the sensor field recently. The 286/386 series may continue to serve on mobile phones with different positioning for a long time.

In terms of photography experience, Meizu PRO 6 Plus is very similar to Samsung's flagship. Even in low light shooting, it can have appropriate picture brightness (but the noise is too serious to avoid). In addition to the lack of automatic HDR, the focus metering, shutter response, and film rate all performed well. It and one plus five are the best among the four machines in terms of photographing experience. One plus five is only slightly deficient in the brightness/smoothness and film rate of low light shooting. Other experiences are almost impeccable.

The multi frame synthesis speed of Xiaomi 6 is average, and the shutter response is not as violent as Xiaomi 5s before. The overall experience is normal. The main problem of Meizu PRO 7 is that the shutter response is slow. The delay between the shutter and the imaging can be clearly perceived by pressing the shutter continuously, but the HDR speed is much faster than PRO 6 Plus, which is the most unexpected.

On the strength of HDR, Xiaomi is lighter than Meizu. Meizu's HDR has increased the blue-green saturation more than Xiaomi's, but Meizu has not deliberately improved the dark details, so it will not have the problem of reduced contrast (looks gray) like Xiaomi's. Although the sense of view of the sample sheet is good, it is more like oil painting. The HDRs on both sides are not very good. The advantages and disadvantages depend on individual needs and likes and dislikes.

The effect of PRO 7's double camera virtualization, whether in shooting or in film, is relatively general. The intensity of the virtualization (the simulated aperture is very large) is very heavy, and the edge judgment of the object is not as accurate as one plus five, and the gap with Xiaomi 6 is even greater.   1. Meizu PRO 6 Plus has strong photography. It is one of the top products among the domestic flagship of the previous generation. The metering and white balance performance are both good, but the indoor lighting scene will be more likely to be warm and yellow. The saturation and contrast are slightly higher than that seen by the naked eye, and the color tendency is very pleasing. Meizu PRO 6 Plus's ultimate discrimination is above average among 12 million pixel products (of course, there is not much difference between them). It is likely that multi frame synthesis will be turned on by default in the phone, and the light and dark details are much richer than those of ordinary phones. With optical anti shake, the multi frame synthesis of PRO 6 Plus can press the shutter speed and ISO very low (very few mobile phones have a 1/4 second shutter like the iPhone. Of course, this is the information merged after multi frame synthesis, and it is extremely difficult to achieve 1/4 second with a naked iron hand). The light/weak light/ultra weak light performance is quite strong, which can easily crush this generation of dual camera models;

  2. One plus five has no optical anti shake and the unit pixel size is only 1.12 μ m, which is one of the worst hardware quality. However, one plus five's multi frame synthesis algorithm is very strong (HQ mode), which can effectively suppress noise and retain complete discrimination. Many scenes can rely on pixel advantages to have better detail performance. The biggest problem of small background (small size of unit pixel) is that the discrimination power and saturation decrease more obviously under weak light. In addition, the one plus five metering is generally slightly brighter, resulting in the loss of bright details, and the detail performance is not far behind the 12 million pixel model;


  3. Meizu PRO 7's loss to the previous generation was expected, but it did not lose too much. Its comprehensive performance was slightly weaker than one plus five, above Xiaomi 6. For machines without optical anti shake, this performance is already very good. Its white balance has a certain blue-green tendency, but it is not as serious as Xiaomi 6. In addition to insufficient exposure of extremely weak light, most scene metering is slightly lower than the naked eye, and the contrast will appear slightly higher. The ultimate discrimination is close to PRO 6 Plus, but after the light gets worse, the ISO improves faster than one plus five, but the noise control and detail performance are good;

  4. The hardware parameters of Xiaomi 6 almost coincide with those of PRO 6 Plus, which is mainly input by noise reduction smearing and multi frame synthesis algorithm. The ancestral green white balance remains unchanged, and the photometric stability is not as good as other machines. The saturation is close to the naked eye, which is relatively elegant. The decline speed of discrimination force is comparable to that of a machine without optical anti shake. The weak light noise reduction algorithm is almost a brute force smear, leaving a lot of room for progress. Meizu has already graduated from the bottom of the photo taking ranks of domestic manufacturers. However, it is a pity that Xiaomi still stops at the stage of hardwired hardware.
