Last week, Intel low-key updated the desktop version of Core i3, the low-voltage version of Core i series with U and Xeon E3 1200 series processors. The first two correspond to the desktop platform and Ultrabook/Notebook respectively, and the latter should be the CPU on the latest iMac:
New Desktop Core i3
The previous desktop i3, from i3-7100T to i3-7350K, has dual core 4-thread architecture, and even the "unprecedented" i3-7350K that can be overclocked. But the Pentium series is more sincere. This generation also has versions with hyper threading. Their main differences are core frequency, L3 cache, core display frequency and TDP.
This update is about Core i3-7120, Core i3-7120T, Core i3-7320T and i3-7340 (the four new ones marked in the table above). Their main change is that the 100MHz main frequency has been increased on the basis of the previous model, the power consumption has remained unchanged, and the step has changed from B-0 to S-0.
Low voltage Core i Series
The product line series with the name U is designed for notebook and Ultrabook platforms. TDP is only 15W. The biggest difference from the desktop version is that the whole series is designed with dual core and 4-thread. This update is available from i3 to i7, including i3-7007U, i3-7110U, i5-7210U, and i7-7510U. The main change is still a small increase in frequency.
Zhiqiang E3 1200 series
This is a series designed for servers/workstations, updated with E3-1285 v6 (the one marked as new in the figure above). This should be the processor on Apple's new iMac, which should not be available in the retail market. This CPU has four cores and eight threads, the default frequency is 4.1GHz, the highest frequency is 4.5GHz, and the HD P630 integrated display (not much different from the i7 HD 630). Its 91W TDP is also directly at the level of the i7.
