Cost effective rolling AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper officially released

On July 31, AMD officially released its strongest CPU series: AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper (Thread Ripper), which is targeted at the high-end products of the HEDT desktop. The target users are mainly developers, researchers, film creators and 4K game enthusiasts. The family includes 3 processors:

  • Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, The price is 999 dollars (8499 yuan in China), which will be sold on August 10;

  • Ryzen Threadripper 1920X, $799 (6999 yuan in China), sold on August 10;

  • Ryzen Threadripper 1900X, $549 (unknown in China), sold on August 31.

Ryzen ThreadRipper benchmarking is Intel's latest i9-7900X, Although it is the most high-end series, it is still a familiar cost performance and core number winning route.

The highest performance Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, It has 16 core 32 threads, the default frequency is 3.4GHz, and the maximum is 4.0GHz. It has 64 PCIE channels and four channel DDR4 memory, which can be overclocked. declare With good water cooling and heat dissipation, the 1950X can overclock all 16 cores to 4.4GHz, and the default score of Cinebench R15 multithreading can reach 3000 points and 3200-3500 points. Although the frequency suffers, AMD uses the same price and i9-7900X multi-core performance, which is still a very accurate differential anus.

At the next level, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X is $200 cheaper. The 12 and 24 threads have a default frequency of 3.5GHz, up to 4.0GHz, and can also be overclocked. AMD still uses the i9-7900X for comparison. Although there is not much advantage even for multi-core, the price difference here is $799/BOC 6999. For users who need multi-core performance, the cost performance ratio is quite high.

The lowest end Ryzen Threadripper 1900X, like the Reelung 7 1800X, is an 8-core 16 thread, but the default frequency is increased to 3.8GHz, and the number of PCIe channels is increased to 64, which can allow four video cards to exchange fire, and has four channels of DDR4 support. The price in the US is $549, but the domestic price is unknown.

Ryzen Threadripper uses the X399 platform and the new Socket TR4 interface, so the heat sink and fasteners must be updated. When the Ryzen Threadripper processor is first launched, there will be about 20 types of water-cooled heat sinks and 5 types of air-cooled heat sinks available in the market.
