1、 Preface

2、 Appearance

There is nothing to say about the appearance. These more traditional machines are basically the same in length. Compared with the previous generation of products, there is no difference in appearance. Whether it is the Blu ray player or the A/V receiver, the black iron box is always their impression. Its size is 365mm x 235mm x 65mm.

However, in terms of workmanship, the Q10 Plus is not bad. The design of the wiredrawing body shell and CNC chamfer makes the machine look delicate.

In terms of interface, Cabol Q10 Plus provides three USB interfaces (two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0), power interface TF card slot, reset hole, optical fiber output interface, AV output interface, HDMI input interface, HDMI output interface and network interface. There is also a hard disk slot on the right side of the body. Users can place a 3.5-inch hard disk by themselves, which is convenient for direct management of Blu ray resources.

In order to improve the wireless signal reception capability of the Q10 Plus, Cabol's team also added two detachable antennas to its body. After all, whether the signal is stable for this product with online resources is also a key point affecting the user experience.

3、 UI interface

Cabol Q10 Plus is not so much a 4K Blu ray player as a comprehensive audio and video entertainment platform, with TV box, Blu ray player, music player and other functions. Of course, Blu ray player is the main body of Q10 Plus, and the functions of TV box and music player can be said to be just a gift, which is not particularly perfect.

On the UI interface, Q10 Plus follows a simple style. On the main page, there are only five sections: "Local", "Music", "Mango TV", "Application" and "Settings", which are simple and clear. Even beginners can quickly get started. When entering the setting interface, many people may feel very familiar with it. Yes, the Q10 Plus system is deeply customized based on Android 6.0, and the operating experience is relatively smooth. Naturally, users can install some other Android apps by themselves, so there is no need to worry about the functionality.

The online resources of Q10 Plus are supported by Mango TV. Mango TV provides movies, TV dramas, variety shows and so on that can basically meet the entertainment needs of most users. Of course, such online resources are only prepared for daily video entertainment, and the clarity of films is not at fever level. Compared with other TV boxes, the online resources of Q10 Plus are not much, but after all, this is just a subsidiary function of it, better than nothing.

4、 Music playing

As for the music player, I personally think it is not a big problem to simply listen to music as a daily play. It is certainly not suitable for music enthusiasts. After my test, Q10 Plus does not support music files in DSD format, but it can deal with general lossless formats, such as Flac, WAV, etc.

Maybe the online resources and music playing of Q10 Plus are not perfect, but don't forget that its essence is a Blu ray player, and high-quality audio and video experience is its essential purpose. Note: This time, Xiaomi TV 4A 65 inch version is used as the experience platform.

5、 Video playback

After inserting the hard disk, users can scan directly in Q10 Plus. Then something interesting comes, Q10 Plus will directly connect to the Internet to match these video resources, and add movie posters, profiles, ratings and other data to them. If you have more data, this process will take some time, but once completed, you will get a very clean and detailed video resource database.

Q10 Plus The matching accuracy rate is relatively high, and you can basically identify movie resources correctly. However, if you have some other videos of non movie resources on your hard disk, such as small videos taken by mobile phones, Q10 Plus will not recognize them, but will add some strange movie posters. This is a reflection of Q10 Plus's slight lack of intelligence. Of course, If all your hard disks are movie resources, you don't need to worry about this problem at all.

In addition, the poster wall of Q10 Plus does not support automatic update. Every time you put new resources into the hard disk, you need to scan again, which is troublesome. I hope the official can solve this problem by updating firmware later.

As a high-end professional Blu ray player, it naturally supports many video coding formats. According to official data, the Q10 Plus supports HDR, 10-bit HEVC/H.265 up to 4K @ 60fps VP9 up to 4K @ 60 fps、H.264 up to 4K @ 24 fps、H.264 BP/MP/HP、VP8、MPEG1/2、MPEG4 SP/ASP GMC、H.263(Sorenson Spark)、WMV9/VC-1 And JPEG/MJPEG/H.265, if you don't know what it means to look at these boring data, you only need to know that Q10 Plus can play most of the video files, at least in my experience, there is no situation that can't be played.

Taking a 10Bit HDR test film as an example, Q10 Plus performs smoothly and has a good experience during playback. The 10Bit HDR film has more realistic and rich color performance than the ordinary 8Bit film, and has more details in the dark and highlights. I believe that I have experienced the tail of HDR mode in mobile phone photography.

Since Q10 Plus supports full channel 10Bit video processing, the color transition of the overall picture will be more natural.

I tried to play the 4K test clip of Batman: The Dark Knight with Q10 Plus again. I have to say that this super HD movie experience is very enjoyable, just like the impact of that image when I first saw IMAX movies.

The smooth movie playing, the exquisite picture performance and the rich color expression will make you more involved in the movie. Although watching 4K ultra-high definition movies is too tedious for ordinary users at present, it is worth the audio-visual enjoyment.

In fact, the decoding ability of Q10 Plus is in line with its positioning level, but I personally pay more attention to some humanized functions, such as the subtitle import function of Q10 Plus. When watching a movie without subtitles, users can directly search for matching subtitles online through the subtitle function of Q10 Plus. In addition, the subtitle function of Q10 Plus also supports personalized settings such as changing the font, position, and color of subtitles, which is quite free.

In addition, at present, many ultra-high definition 4K resources rarely embed Chinese subtitles, so I think the subtitle function of Q10 Plus is quite practical at this stage.

6、 Summary

From the perspective of an ordinary user, although the Blu ray player is not just needed, it must be something that can improve the quality of life. In terms of experience alone, Cabol Q10 Plus is qualified. Although there are some system shortcomings, they are not serious, and can be solved through subsequent firmware upgrades. In terms of price, the official price of Q10 Plus is 2999 yuan, which is quite cost-effective in the high-end market.
