The packaging of vivo X9s/X9s Plus is similar to that of the previous generation. It is a pure white cardboard box with reticular grain. The logo has blue embellishment and the logo of NBA official partners. Accessories include instruction manual, clip, transparent silicone shell, dual engine flash charging head, mirco USB data cable, headset and its supporting silicone cover. It should be noted that the charging head of this generation is unified into BK-T-01Q, with a maximum output of 9V/2A and 18W.

The most obvious feature of the vivo X9/X9s series is the front dual camera aperture on the left side of the receiver. The antenna color difference of the black version is smaller, and the integrity is stronger. The vivo X9s and X9s Plus are equipped with a 1/2.8 inch 16 million pixel sensor on the rear. The former uses Samsung's S5K2P7, and the latter uses Sony's IMX298.

The vivo X9s Plus has one more noise reduction microphone opening than the X9s. The bottom interface layout is consistent. From left to right, there are headphone interface, main microphone, mirco USB and speaker. Vivo and OPPO, two big blue and green manufacturers, are the only big manufacturers that still insist on using the mirco USB interface. Interesting details are that the X9s have a more rigid waistline on the side, while the X9s Plus has a more rounded side.
