As a manufacturer with a long history, Sharp has more than one hundred years of experience in TV production and 44 years of experience in LCD panel development and manufacturing. It is one of the oldest LCD TV manufacturers in history and one of the few manufacturers in the world who master the core technology of LCD panel Display and mobile phone manufacturers provide screens.

However, with the weakness of the global traditional home appliance market, Sharp, like Sony, has fallen into operational difficulties. After several reforms, Sharp is still mired in trouble. Sharp finally chose to cooperate under all kinds of helplessness. On April 3, 2016, Sharp and Foxconn became friends, and Sharp officially joined the family of Hon Hai. Later, Sharp went through a year long resource integration, and finally recently brought us the AQUOS Sharp Vision S60, which is the focus of Sharp and Foxconn.

When it comes to AQUOS, readers who are not familiar with Sharp may not understand it very well, AQUOS is a LCD TV brand launched by Sharp in 2001, which aims to pursue high image quality and sound quality, representing Sharp's top LCD TV series. The main character of this evaluation is one of the AQUOS series, called Kuangshi S60/S60U. Let's see how this TV series performs.

Appearance and unpacking

In terms of installation, AQUOS Sharp Kuangshi S60 is quite convenient. The two triangular brackets are fixed with three screws. It can be easily done according to the operation guide in the manual.

The slightly curved triangular support has a sense of technology. It is made of metal material as a whole and equipped with rubber anti-skid feet at the bottom. The material is quite solid and firm. The surface is treated with micro sanding, which can reflect uneven faint luster, and is both beautiful and practical.

In terms of appearance integrity, Sharp spared no effort to attach a cover plate to the bracket interface, which actually needs to be removed when installing the bracket, that is, the cover plate is only for the appearance of the product before installation.

Use three screws to install the bracket on the screw hole at the bottom of the TV. All three are cross screws. Use a common screwdriver to complete the installation. After installation, use a cover plate of another size to cover the interface. The whole installation process is very simple.

The bracket designed with triangular structure is very firm in structure, and the support for the fuselage is quite stable. Even the 60 inch and thin fuselage does not shake too much, and the stability of placement does not need to be worried.

The bottom of the TV should be slightly wider than the overall thickness of the fuselage due to the reserved screw holes at the bottom.

After the installation of the support, we can put the TV up. What about it? Does it feel as thin as a cicada's wings? AQUOS Sharp Kuangshi has two versions, the integrated S60 and the split S60U. This time, we bring you the S60. Because of its integrated design, it is more convenient to install. Compared with other brands' models of the same level, even the all-in-one S60 is still very thin.

In order to prevent the screen from being damaged during transportation, in addition to the large foam protection block in the package, a layer of paper shell+foam is also pasted on the screen to protect the screen from accidental damage. The protection measures are very careful.

On the back side of the fuselage, the segmented design of high light mirror top+carbon fiber texture bottom is adopted. The main circuit of the fuselage is located under the arc shaped carbon fiber backplane below. All interfaces of the fuselage have a cover plate design. The cover plate adopts the same texture as the backplane, hiding all the connectors under the cover plate. After connecting the cable, the cable can be led out through the opening on the cover plate, which can maximize the integrity of the TV backplane.

In terms of interfaces, AQUOS Sharp Kuangshi S60 is very rich. There are all kinds of commonly used interfaces, which can access multiple devices at the same time without affecting each other.

Digital audio output, LAN cable interface, color difference component interface and Sharp service special interface are hidden under the left cover plate.

The interfaces under the right cover are USB 2.0, USB 3.0, MicroSD card, three HDMI and analog signal interfaces from top to bottom.

In terms of buttons, AQUOS Sharp Kuangshi S60 is very simple in design. The whole machine has only one remote sensing button that takes into account the direction, determination and power supply. You can start the machine at a touch.

Then came the very amazing front part. AQUOS Sharp Kuangshi S60 uses a 60 inch Sharp original panel with a resolution of 4K, which has about 8.29 million effective pixels. The display panel uses Sharp's patented polymer alignment film light sensing technology, which has a higher backlight transmittance and 1.6 times the static contrast of the conventional panel.

Before the screen is lit, the display panel can also act as a mirror, but we don't need to worry about reflection. Before starting up, we also have such concerns, but at the moment after the screen is lit, we eliminate all doubts and concerns. This display panel fully deserves the name of original Sharp.

After the screen was lit, we were really surprised to see the S60. Because the screen has a relatively high brightness, the reflective condition was basically eliminated after the screen was lit. When it was placed at home, as long as it was not in the position of strong light, the light would not have a great impact on the display effect.

In terms of body details, the design language of AQUOS Sharp Kuangshi S60 is very simple. In addition to the huge screen on the front of the body, there are only Sharp's LOGO and the speaker integrated with the body at the bottom. The speaker adopts the color contrast design opposite to the body, which at first glance seems to be integrated with the base.

The connection part between the speaker and the bracket adopts a gentle transition design. The bracket is completely connected to the speaker, with strong integrity. The slightly curved bracket is also very artistic. There is also a sticker on the lower left corner of the fuselage, indicating that the display panel is from Sharp's original Japanese panel.

After the TV is turned on, a sense of shock immediately emerges. The 1.6 mm wide frame makes the screen proportion of the whole machine reach an unprecedented height. In addition, the 60 inch large size makes the visual impact very shocking. The splash screen uses the same purple tone as the Sharp conference venue, which also represents the integration of Foxconn's brand blue and Sharp's brand red, and the new Sharp is more open, inclusive and international.

The boot animation is very beautiful. The purple tone+halo is quite small and fresh. Although it is only a short boot screen, it is still very pleasant. Except for the slightly wide bottom edge, the other three sides are all designed with ultra narrow borders, which has a strong visual impact. The S60 uses a design that integrates the speaker and the body, while its sibling model, the S60U, uses a split speaker design, so the bottom edge will be narrower. However, both have advantages and disadvantages, depending on the user's preference.

After moving to the normal viewing distance, the effect of the ultra narrow frame becomes more prominent. As one of the televisions with the highest proportion of screens at present, its large size and high proportion of screens have a strong image impact, and the display effect is relatively transparent. The overall display effect is quite outstanding. The first impression of this screen is really very deep.

Now we take the one yuan coin as a reference. The 1.6 mm width is only about a quarter of the one yuan coin, which is quite amazing.

In terms of remote control, the model of the remote control attached to Kuangshi S60 is GB25WJ, which is very modern in design. The overall design is very unique. The back uses a carbon fiber texture similar to the Kuangshi S60 backplane, and the texture is good. The remote control uses two AA batteries for power supply. It comes with two original Sharp batteries, which is more considerate.

The key layout is relatively simple and clear. Volume adjustment, channel switching, mute, menu, home page, etc. are all common function keys, which are not lacking. The feel is good. Screen quality test

In terms of screen panel, Sharp's exclusive detail image processing and edge image processing technology are used to restore the true natural color of the image to the maximum extent. In addition, Sharp has also added a wide gamut, with 96% NTSC wide gamut technology, which is higher than the existing wide gamut standard (* NTSC1931), and can bring more rich color expression and more natural colors.

In terms of objective parameters, the maximum brightness of the panel is about 343 nites; When the color temperature is set to medium by default, the color temperature is 10900, which is relatively cold; In terms of color gamut, its sRGB coverage is 99.2%, NTSC coverage is 84.1%, and Adobe RGB coverage is 87.3%.

In terms of color accuracy, we choose to adjust the color temperature to the standard 6500k or so before measuring. The average DeltaE of 104 colors is 4.8, and the maximum DeltaE is only 12.5, which is excellent for such a large panel.

In the test of brightness uniformity, we use 9 brightness test. The maximum brightness in the center is about 350 nits, and the surrounding brightness is slightly lower, but it also reaches about 290 nits. The surrounding brightness reduction is also a normal phenomenon for the LCD screen. On the whole, the performance of this panel is quite good. For a display panel of such a large size as a TV, it is excellent to have such parameters.

Display effect experience

Although objective parameters can explain the excellence of a display screen to a certain extent, the real viewing experience is also very important. The display tendency of color determines the user's first impression, so color preference is also very important. In this part, we will use test pictures+4K pictures+4K video live shots to illustrate.

In the resolution test, almost all the test items can be easily passed, with sharp fonts and no burrs on the edges. For TV models at this price, such tests are not worth mentioning.

On the test of color and visual angle, the screen of the wide view S60 is also impeccable. The color ball displays evenly without color blocks and strip band marks. The HSB color block diagram shows that 135 and 120 are slightly difficult to identify. Other colors can be easily identified, and the performance is quite outstanding.

In the test of tone level restoration, the 64 level gradient can be divided into about 60 levels, the dark level is about 12, and the light level is about 251.

In the 256 level grayscale test, because our on-site light has some impact, the sample can not be very clear. The actual test can show up to 34/48/19, and the performance is excellent.

Real shot part of display effect:

In our initial experience, whether it is colorful cartoons, documentaries of real scenes, or action films with grand scenes, their performance is quite excellent, with rich colors, clear details, and transparent and clear pictures.

From our test results, the parameters of the display panel are quite good. In our actual perception, its color and clarity are also gratifying. Its color and clarity performance is very good, and the color trend is also relatively pleasant. Moreover, because of 4K resolution, it has relatively high PPI, so the image is relatively clear and sharp. Even at a size of 60 inches, there are basically no font burrs and other problems, and its performance is still outstanding.

In terms of color temperature, its adjustment is relatively cold, but it provides multi-level settings that can be adjusted. Users can adjust according to their own preferences. We use the default color temperature, that is, about 10000k color temperature for sample viewing. The display effect is quite transparent and sharp, and the color performance is relatively accurate. However, due to the high color temperature, the picture is really relatively cold, which makes the picture more sharp at the same time sacrificing some color performance, and it looks relatively less attractive. However, this is also a turnip vegetables have their own preferences, users have to choose according to their own preferences.

Sound quality experience:

In addition to the fact that the original Sharp screen is impeccable in terms of image quality, Sharp has also made some achievements in terms of sound quality. The 2.1 channel speakers it carries have a relatively balanced performance in all frequency bands. Compared with many Internet brand TVs, it still has certain advantages. However, compared with the broadview S60U designed by the split sound box, the broadview S60 we tested is obviously inferior, The natural gap between the volume of the resonator and the number of sound generating units is difficult to overcome. Fortunately, Sharp added the YAMAHA Audio Engine range expansion and repair technology to the Kuangshi S60, which can repair the audio quality lost due to compression, make the bass more harmonious and deep, and reconstruct the loss of mid and high pitch elements caused by compression, which has a certain improvement effect on the audio quality.

System experience

The system has always been the strength of domestic smart TV. As a local manufacturer, it has a more thorough understanding of users' usage habits. The TV system of Japanese and Korean manufacturers has always been somewhat ungrounded. However, there is no need to worry this time. The system problems that plagued Sharp in the past have been greatly improved since Foxconn took over. It abandoned the AliCloud operating system previously used by Sharp TV and replaced it with the newly developed Taitum UI intelligent TV system. The operating mode has been basically the same as that of the domestic system. Although the UI still needs to be improved, it has been a huge improvement for Sharp.

On the whole, the functionality of Taitum is still positive. Compared with Sharp's previous system, its ease of use has been greatly improved, but the overall UI still needs to be improved. The current version is not ugly, but it seems a bit messy. There is some conflict in color matching, which gives people a slightly confused visual experience. However, the richness of resources is commendable. Its cooperation with iQIYI is relatively timely in TV dramas, variety shows and other aspects. However, there is still a gap in resources between Xiaomi Box and Xiaomi Box, an Internet brand that has worked hard for many years.
