Android O was released in a low profile on March 21 (directly on Google's developer page), and its second beta version (commonly known as beta version) was released in mid May. The new system has not changed much in the UI, but it has brought many new functions such as notification control, application long press menu, split screen/picture in picture, permission management, etc. These basic system features have been enhanced, which is very good news for standby power consumption and rogue notification caused by rampant rogue applications on the domestic Android platform. But Google has not yet released the digital code of the new system.
On June 5, it was reported that the words "Android 8.0 and API level 26" appeared in the platform version (platformBuildVersion) of the new Google Photo application by foreign application developers. Considering that the API level of the current Android N (representing Nougat nougat) is 25, it is very likely that the Android O number code will jump directly to Android 8.0. The system code has reached 8.0, but 6.0 has just been popularized.
