Today, in addition to releasing the thinnest TV Xiaomi TV 4 in the history of Xiaomi, Xiaomi also announced a major plan, "Water Drop Plan", which aims to let intelligent developers access Xiaomi TV and jointly build a smart home platform.

As early as the previous generation of Xiaomi products, Xiaomi TV 4A has been equipped with an intelligent voice system.

However, the voice function will now be open to third-party developers, so that third-party developers can also access Xiaomi TV.

What does the water drop platform do?

Generally speaking, the Waterdrop platform can provide a platform for developers to expand the functions of Xiaomi's ecological hardware products. We call these functions Skills. Skills can provide extensions such as music, weather, news, encyclopedia, etc.

The Waterdrop Open Platform communicates with developers' applications through cloud interaction, and uses HTTPS to protect communication content, so that users can use voice to interact with their hardware products, such as playing music, setting alarm clocks or timers, and answering questions.

In the future, the Waterdrop platform will also provide NLP capabilities and user data based on massive full platform.

At present, 8 products of Xiaomi have been connected to Xiaomi TV: air purifier, sweeping robot, smart light, air conditioner, rice cooker, camera, smart socket and wall switch.

According to Xiaomi, the inspiration of the water drop open platform comes from the novel Three Bodies (in the novel, "water drops" can sweep the entire human fleet). Xiaomi's water drop plan should be to say that even a single water drop can be an independent world, and Xiaomi hopes to create such a world.
