Vertu is a high-end luxury mobile phone brand created by Nokia in the 1990s and dedicated to a small number of users. It uses expensive materials and handcrafts to create high-quality mobile phones. Today, it is reported that Hakan Uzan, a Turkish businessman who was once in exile, has been about 50 million British GBP (US $61 million) acquisition.

The Uzan family once obtained loans from Nokia and Motorola to establish a Turkish mobile operating company Telsim. In 2001, Telsim violated a loan worth 2.7 billion dollars. To this end, Nokia and other companies sued Telsim and won billions of dollars in compensation. In 2004, the Turkish government seized more than 200 companies belonging to Uzan Group. The government said it was mainly to repay its family's nearly $5.7 billion bank loan. Some members of the Uzan family also went into exile.

Hakan Uzan didn't say much about why he wanted to acquire Vertu, but just expressed that Vertu is a strong brand, has a recognized niche market, and will strive to realize the full potential of Vertu.
