1、 Foreword.

2、 Introduction to Hemiao coding stick

The Hemiao coding stick must rely on the 4G or wifi wireless transmission function of Android phones for live broadcast. If there is wifi in the room, you can also use an Android tablet that supports OTG functions to broadcast live. If there is no wifi network outdoors, you must use 4G Android phones that support OTG to broadcast live.

3、 Appearance

After receiving the package, I can't wait to open it.

The box of Hemiao coding stick is white, and there is a black handbag in the package, which says "Hemiao live broadcast - live broadcast system in the pocket". The box is small and exquisite, and the handbag is high-end and grand. It's very suitable to pack the box in a bag and pay a visit to give gifts this New Year.

The front side of the box is very simple, with only the live broadcast of Hemiao, and the model of the product and the logo for trial use. This model is HN-HLS01. It should be noted that there are two types of Hemiao coding stick. My version is the standard version, and the other is the upgraded version of HN-HLS01 pro. The upgraded version has a separate 35mm audio input. There are more physical switches and 35mm interfaces on the appearance.

There are two QR codes on the back of the box that can be scanned, one is the public account, the other is the APP download of Hemiao Live, and below are the company's name, address, contact number and various certification marks.

When the box is opened, the Hemiao coding stick is placed in the middle of the foam of the box.

The shell of Hemiao coding bar is made of aluminum alloy processed by CNC, and it is equipped with black matt frosting process, which makes it feel very good, and the black color is more solemn. There are three rows of cooling holes on the front. Considering that the coding rod will emit heat when it is working, the aluminum alloy integrated body with cooling holes can quickly take away the heat generated by the chip and ensure that the chip can continue to work at a reasonable temperature. The top left corner is the LOGO of the seeding live broadcast, and the bottom left corner is the parameter specification. The encoder bar supports live broadcast upload with 1080P HD resolution at most. On the lower right corner is the English HDMI LIVE ENCODER, which is translated as "HDMI Live Encoder".

The back of the coding bar is clean, without text and logo.

There is a standard USB socket and a micro USB socket on the right side of the coding stick. The standard USB socket is used to connect the mobile phone through the matching cable. Micro USB connector is the power supply interface. If there is no power supply, the coding rod can also be powered through the OTG of the mobile phone itself. Only the battery life of the mobile phone will be shortened. Therefore, if conditions permit, it is better to add an external power supply to the coding rod.

On the left side of the encoder bar is a standard HDMI A type interface (since my version is a standard version, there is only one HDMI interface. If it is a pro version, there will be an additional 35mm headphone jack and jumper switch). There are two indicators on the left and right respectively. The State indicator is always green after the live broadcast, and the power indicator is always green as long as it is powered or connected to the mobile phone.

Four cables are configured as standard at a time, which is my first experience. It turns out that each of the four cables has its own purpose. The two are HDMI connecting cables and the two are OTG connecting cables connected to the mobile phone.

The two HDMI cables are HDMI A-A type standard male and HDMI A-C type male and female. Most of our HDMI output devices generally use HDMI A and C types, so the A type interface is inserted on the Hemiao coding stick, and the other interface is connected to the device that needs video output, thus completing the physical link of the video device input coding stick.

The two OTG cables are micro USB to USB A type and type C to USB A type. The standard USB end of these two cables should be connected to the Hemiao coding stick. At the other end, select the cable of the corresponding interface according to the USB interface of your phone. At present, the Hemiao coding stick only supports Android phones, so it is not equipped with Apple's dedicated lighting interface. Most mobile phones in the market are equipped with micro usb and type c interfaces, so these two cables are basically compatible with all Android phones in the world.

4、 How to connect coding rod and equipment

The connection of Hemiao coding rod is very simple.

Referring to the official schematic diagram, the final connection mode is that the video output device is connected to the HDMI port on the Hemiao coding stick through the HDMI connection cable, and the mobile phone is also connected to the USB port of the Hemiao coding stick through the OTG cable. When the Hemiao coding stick is powered on, it is OK.

5、 Use of Hemiao Live APP

Scan the QR code on the box to download the APP.

There are three Docks below the main interface of the APP: "My Activities", "Streaming" and "Personal Center".

The personal center can set various code rate, image resolution and other options related to the live broadcast. As the Hemiao coding stick is used for the first time, the words "not opened" are displayed on it..

The encoder bar is used for the first time and needs to be opened. Scan the SN barcode on the instruction manual with app to activate it. If it is not opened, the time of each live broadcast activity can only be less than 20 minutes. If it is activated, a live broadcast can last for 24 hours.

After the opening is successful, the authorization prompt will pop up when the Hemiao coding stick is connected, and click Agree. After successful connection, the personal center Hemiao coding bar will display green "connected".

In the live broadcast settings, you can select the direction of the mobile phone during the live broadcast, the code rate and resolution of the mobile phone output, the code rate and resolution of the encoder bar output, and the audio sampling rate. If the upload bandwidth is high enough and the mobile phone configuration is good enough, the resolution and code rate can be properly adjusted. In this way, the live broadcast effect will be better.

Streaming Dock is mainly used to set up the live video transmission to various third-party live broadcast platforms, so that all users of the live broadcast platform can see the live video output from the Hemiao coding stick. This function will be introduced in detail later.

6、 Live broadcast of Hemiao

He Miao live broadcast is his own live broadcast platform. The live broadcast of this platform needs to be created. After creation, a tag card will be generated, and multiple live broadcasts can be created at the same time.

Click the "+" in the upper right corner of My Activity interface to create a live event.

Fill in the title, start time, introduction and location of the event, and upload a cover picture to create a live event.

After the creation is successful, a live activity tag will be formed on my activity. Click to enter the live broadcast interface.

After entering the live broadcast interface, click the left, bottom, and right side of the live broadcast screen to pop up corresponding menus. You can select the playback source in the menu on the left, manipulate the playback source in the lower part, and set the superimposed coating on the right.

Click the pop-up menu on the left, you can select the acquisition channel of the picture, and obtain the image source from the mobile phone camera, Hemiao encoder, Hemiao encoder and USB camera. Click the QR code icon below to share the QR code address of this live broadcast. The QR code on the left is the viewing address of ordinary viewers. The QR code on the right is the administrator address. Administrators can open or close rewards, initiate voting and delete some messages to facilitate the management of live broadcast.

After clicking the live broadcast, you can see the current audience watching the live broadcast and the resolution of the live broadcast picture in the upper left corner. The chat window is displayed in the middle of the left side. The viewer can publish text, and the text message will be displayed on the left. Status information such as upload speed and time of mobile phone is displayed in the upper right corner.

Click the arrow at the bottom to call out the live broadcast control menu.

The volume and acquisition source uploaded by the microphone can be selected for sound adjustment.

Picture switching can superimpose the phone camera image to form a picture in picture mode. This function is one of the most distinctive features of Hemiao live broadcast stick. It is impossible to broadcast both HDMI in pictures and camera pictures on a single mobile phone. This is also the selling point of Hemiao coding stick.

The position and size of picture in picture can be adjusted, which is very humanistic.

The flash can be turned on. The flash is always on. The atmosphere adjustment is to create various background sounds to activate the scene atmosphere. Click "Laughter", and a group of people will laugh in the background.

Advanced settings can adjust the code rate of live broadcast. The higher the code rate, the better the effect of viewers. However, the higher the requirements for mobile phone performance and bandwidth, you should consider the actual situation.

Another selling point of Hemiao coding stick is its flexible, convenient and practical coating. Click the arrow on the right to pop up the coating menu. The coating can select time display, image LOGO, text editing, score mode, title customization, dynamic caption group, etc.

As shown in the figure, if the overlay coating is well designed, the actual broadcast effect is no less than the professional broadcast effect of television stations. Especially when the ball game is broadcast, there are convenient and beautiful scoreboards and time countdown, which can enhance the effect of live broadcast, and make the vast number of viewers have a clear view of the content and situation of the live broadcast.

7、 Streaming to a third-party live broadcast platform

Hemiao Live can push the live broadcast content to a third-party platform, such as Panda Live, Fighting Fish Live, etc. In this way, fans of the whole platform can watch their own live broadcast, which is convenient for fans of the platform to exchange and reward.

Click Streaming at the bottom of the interface to enter the Streaming Settings interface.

There are two main places for streaming that need to be filled in manually. One is the actual address of streaming, and the other is the address of the live broadcast room. The actual streaming address needs to be found after the live broadcast room is opened on the web page. Click the streaming address button to display the address and copy it here. The address of the live broadcast room is used to receive player interaction messages in the live broadcast room.

After setting, click Streaming to enter the live streaming interface. This interface is the same as the live broadcast interface of Hemiao in Chapter 6, and will not be introduced in detail.

I use the live fighting platform. After setting the streaming address and the address of the live broadcasting room, click the live broadcasting, and you can see the live broadcasting on my mobile phone in the "My Live Broadcasting Room" on the computer website or the mobile fighting APP.

I sent a bullet screen message to myself in the live broadcast room on the computer, and the live broadcast interface of Hemiao Live immediately received the bullet screen message without delay.

8、 Live stick passes HDMI in picture acquisition test

Let's try the test of HDMI image acquisition with live stick. Since I have no SLR, DV camera, or professional UAV, I can only use my GPD WIN handheld win10 mini notebook as the HDMI signal source for HDMI input.

Connect GPD win to Hemiao coding stick through HDMI cable, and select copy picture on the computer.

At this time, the live video of the mobile phone appears on the desktop of the computer. Turn on the picture in picture function, and the pictures of the mobile phone camera will be superimposed on the computer desktop.

Use another mobile phone to enter the live broadcast room, where you can see live picture in picture images.

Send a message in the live broadcast room, and the message will be immediately pushed to Hemiao Live to facilitate the interaction between the host and viewers.

9、 Some suggestions

After a period of trial and research, some suggestions for improvement were found.

1. We look forward to the standard configuration of HDMI D type cable, because the HDMI output of some devices is a D type interface.

2. When you broadcast live on your mobile phone, the QR code that pops up cannot be shared with others. You can only scan the code through another mobile phone, or take a screenshot of your mobile phone, and then press and hold on WeChat to identify it. It is laborious and inhuman. It should be designed as a one click sharing address link.

3. You can't watch the live broadcast of Hemiao on the computer, you must use your mobile phone to watch it. The live broadcast connection of Hemiao received on the PC end of WeChat on the computer will prompt you that you do not have the right to view it on the PC end after clicking it, and you can only watch it on your mobile phone. If you want to watch on the PC, after asking the official engineer, you must push the stream through a third-party platform. We look forward to opening the right to view on the PC to facilitate the majority of WeChat users on the PC.

10、 Summary
