2、 Outer packing and unpacking

4、 Use of Mijia APP

Scan the QR code to download Mijia APP.

After entering Mijia APP, enter your Xiaomi account to log in.

There are four docks on the bottom bar, namely My Device, Mica Mall, Discover Cool Play and Personal Center.

The first tab is my device tag.

Locate your own address and weather conditions right above the tab.

The second column is my scene. You can set intelligent scenes here.

Smart scenes include going home, leaving home, getting up and sleeping. You can add a list of Xiaomi's ecological devices and order each device to work or send commands. The third column is my device, and the bound device will be displayed here.

Click on the upper left corner to open the slide menu, which contains information about yourself, the bound device and the connected router.

5、 Add device pairing and update

When the Mijia universal remote control is powered on, if it has not been paired, the display light will flash yellow. At this time, in the upper right corner of the "My Device" tab of Mijia APP, the "+" sign will display a red dot, indicating that there is information.

After clicking the+sign, a message appears on the pop-up "Add Device".

Click Add Device, and Mijia APP will automatically search for the Xiaomi universal remote control.

Click, you will be prompted to scan the local wifi first.

After selecting the local wifi, enter the password, and wait a moment to start the automatic connection.

After the connection is successful, the device status will be updated.

After successful connection, the Xiaomi universal remote control will appear in my device. There is a new tag, indicating that this is the latest device added.

Xiaomi Universal Router supports online updating of system firmware.

Click the three points on the upper right corner of the upper interface of the remote control to enter the general settings and check the firmware update.

When a new version is available, it can be updated.

After the update, bugs will be fixed to improve performance. If possible, update the firmware of the device frequently.

6、 Add remote control

To add a remote control, you can search by the model of the remote control.  

Enter the model of the remote control directly, and you can find the remote control in the remote control code library. The Xiaomi universal remote control coding library is very rich, with hundreds of thousands of types, and it is updated frequently, covering tens of thousands of models such as TV, box, air conditioner, projector, set-top box, fan, audio, camera, purifier and DVD player. Most remote controls on the market can be easily found.

My home is Hisense TV. Enter the cn-21658 model to find a ready remote control.

After adding, you can enter the remote control button interface. Touch the corresponding button, and the command will be sent to the universal remote control through the mobile phone. When the universal remote control sends out the infrared remote control signal, the blue light will flash.

If the remote control does not have a model, such as the remote control of my home continent cable set-top box, it needs to be added through manual matching.

Each time you are prompted to press a button, does the TV box respond. If there is no response, the next frequency scheme of the button will be changed. If there is response, replace the next key. It won't take much longer to match the remote control.

7、 Disassembly for workmanship

There is a rubber anti-skid pad under the remote control. For disassembly, the anti slip pad must be removed to expose the screw hole.

Tear off the anti-skid rubber pad and unscrew the screws to open the remote control.

The remote control is a black high-end PCB circuit board. The components are neatly made and firmly welded.

In the center is a main emission infrared diode, surrounded by six omnidirectional diodes. In this way, infrared signals can be transmitted in all directions without worrying about dead corners.

Below is the infrared receiving diode, which is used to learn the functions of remote control keys.

After testing, the signal from the universal remote control can be received in any corner of the room, without worrying about the placement angle and dead angle.

8、 Some explanations and improvements needed

After a period of experience, I found the following problems.

1. After the location is changed, the wifi network cannot be connected. It needs to be reset and reset. You can connect from a new pair only after poking the reset socket for 5 seconds.

2. There is no hanging hole on the back, which is inconvenient to hang

4. You cannot customize the position of the keys on the remote control panel, nor can you define whether or not the keys are available. There is no way to remove the useless keys from the main panel. I hope that when Mijia APP is updated in the future, I can edit the remote control panel myself.
