Thanks for the opportunity to experience FIIL earphones. Although I haven't left a particularly positive impression on Wang Feng since the age of 43 Baojia Street, today I look back at Wang Feng and those rock bands at the same time. Maybe the solo flight at that time also took a lot of responsibility.

At the same time, I also saw a kind of persistence from the constant innovation and enrichment of product lines after the birth of FIIL earphones.

But here, I'd better put aside my feelings and simply look at this FIIL Diva.

1、 FIIL Diva and its positioning

As for the FIIL (it is fiil, and many people mistook the logo for fiii or flll) brand, many people believe that they have learned about it through various channels. It is a headphone brand founded by rock musician Wang Feng. In 2015, it launched its first noise reduction headphone, FIIL, as well as the wireless version and in ear earplug Bestie.

In 2016, FIIL launched FIIL Diva (this model) and Diva Pro, two wireless noise reduction smart headphones, in the form of crowdfunding. In addition to wireless and noise reduction, these two earphones add intelligent parts compared with the previous products. The voice interaction function enriches the user experience and simplifies the operation process, which will also be introduced later.

In addition, there are also FIIL Carat（ ）Other products are constantly joining the FIIL headphone camp, enriching users' choices.

The FIIL Diva is in the middle of the FIIL series earphones. Compared with the flagship model, it will certainly have a compromise, and its price advantage is relatively large. On the whole, it should be the cost-effective model in the whole series. The crowdfunding price of 799 is a very cost-effective position in noise reduction earphones. As for whether it's worth it or not, let's take a look at the performance of this headset first.

2、 Unpacking

Like the popular packaging design style in the past two years, Diva's packaging is also very simple. Anyway, Hi Res's small gold label has become a conspicuous object, which is also an affirmation of the headset's ability (from my Dafa...). Fiil me now, FIIL is synonymous with Feel.

The back is marked with Diva features. This is a Bluetooth headset that is suitable for iPhone and other devices and supports Qualcomm Apt-X. Diva's slogan is "No cavities", and er... is "the starting point of mass musicians".  

After removing the package, you can see a large leather headphone box inside (alas, this is the design style of Wang Feng!!), with a metal nameplate of FIIL embedded in the middle.  

The photo of the whole family came out of the earphone box that had already appeared, as well as a manual and wires.  

At the first sight when I opened the box to see FIIL Diva, it was amazing. Although Bose was white before, it was not such a bright white catch-up (the slogan "no cavities" was right just now...). The earphone adopts a folding design. The outward part is mainly white (beautiful), and the inward part is mainly gray (in order to resist dirt...?)

Diva adopts an on ear design, which is of moderate size. In the middle of the bright white shell is the logo of FIIL, which can be lit through APP or function keys.  

A circle near the shell is integrated with many function keys and interfaces, including switch key, MAF (FIIL's own noise reduction function key), MicroUSB interface and 3.5mm audio socket. In addition, there is a round hole on the left and right near the axis, which should be the microphone responsible for noise reduction.

The shell and earmuff are connected by a special rubber material, which has good elasticity on the one hand, and can easily change the direction to fit the ear on the other hand. The ear muffs are covered with skin like materials, which are comfortable and breathable. A ring of memory sponge is embedded inside the ear muffs, providing good tightness and comfort.

As mentioned above, the exterior of the head beam is also bright white, and the interior is gray (wrong light...) skin like material. At the same time, Diva can change its size by pulling out its earmuffs. It adopts a damped design without a sense of paragraph.

The wiring includes a MicroUSB charging cable and a 3.5mm audio cable. The 3.5mm audio cable also has Mic input, so both ends are of four segment design. The white cable is beautiful and flexible, and the length of about 1.3m is enough. The only disadvantage is that the MicroUSB cable is black, black, black!! Damaged the overall tone and beauty, although the line itself is good.

It can be seen from the above details that Diva has integrated the tradition of the FIL series earphones in the appearance design, and the workmanship is also commendable. Whether it is the white hard shell or the paint surface of the middle control area, the selected materials and workmanship level also complement each other.  

3、 Try on and listen

In terms of trial wear, as a ear pressing earphone with noise reduction function, the comfort of FILL is good. It still feels like a collet when worn for a long time, but thanks to the use of memory sponge as the inner lining on the headset, it will not be particularly depressing when worn for a long time. At the same time, good sealing can also help reduce noise on the physical level.

In terms of overall weight, Diva weighs about 220g slightly. However, the 220g weight is worth 30+hours of endurance.

In terms of audition, as mentioned above, Diva is a wireless, noise reduction and intelligent headset, and I have never personally experienced what a noise reduction headset is, so let's talk about noise reduction first. The function of earphones such as Diva is active noise reduction. The general principle is to collect the surrounding sound through Mic on the earphone (visible in the figure above), and then eliminate the impact of this part of sound on the audio in the earphone through an opposite waveform (wave superposition and cancellation), so as to reduce the noise, This function is more suitable for relatively noisy environments such as bus, subway and other commuting processes, but you must pay attention to safety.

I experienced the noise reduction function of Diva on the way to buy vegetables. The first feeling when I opened it was that the whole world was quiet. However, it was later discovered that not all the sounds would be greatly eliminated, and the nearby sounds and some loud sounds would still be heard, such as the loudspeakers selling sauerkraut on the roadside, or the cars passing by. However, it is still recommended that you do not wear them when crossing the road.

After noise reduction, let's talk about the sound quality of Diva. Because Diva can also be connected to the wired mode through the connection, there are three modes of use as a whole, wireless, wired power off, and wired power on. On the whole, the sound quality is good when the cable is turned off. After the power is turned on, the background noise will be affected because the wireless module works.

With Shanling M1 player, Diva's tri band sound is slightly low to medium frequency, the vocal performance is good, and the bass sound is also elastic and transient. In details, it is better than the general Bluetooth headset, but it is different from the wired headset. Even if the maximum bandwidth of Apt-X is added, it is only close to the CD level. In terms of sound field, the sound level is relatively clear, which is more obvious horizontally than vertically.

Disadvantages: When playing the first Bluetooth connection, there will always be a jam a few seconds before the start of the broadcast, which is similar to the general Bluetooth headset. Breakpoints will occasionally occur when playing the high bit rate FLAC. In addition, Diva has obvious background noise. It is not used when it is turned off. It should originate from Bluetooth.

IV APP

Compared with other FIIL earphones, Diva has added the function of intelligent voice interaction, but only the Bluetooth Diva. In order to obtain network resources smoothly, APP is a necessary component. Now let's introduce the APP function of the partner with Diva.

Intelligent voice

Diva's intelligent interaction has been described before. In short, as shown in the figure above, it is OK to say your instructions, including song search. The specified music library is Kuwo Music. To use this function, you need to install Kuwo Music APP. As for the recognition ability, I don't know whether my voice is not standard and my recognition is very low. For example, "the existence of Wang Feng" or "Beijing Beijing" almost tell me that there is no matching content. "Play a song of Wang Feng" is different. Sometimes it is "no", sometimes it is "red", sometimes it is "search". At the same time, according to my experience, if Kuwo music is not played, the success rate is extremely low. If Kuwo music is played, the songs found will be played with Kuwo

Then, there is no such thing

Provide cooker

In order to provide professional guidance to general users, the FIIL APP provides the function of machine burning. It is mainly to use powder noise (various frequency bands pricking...) to play for a long time to ease the diaphragm. The four volume stages of 25%, 50%, 65% and 80% are set for the cooker, and the total duration of the cooker is 3000 minutes. As a saying goes, waiting for the completion of the cooker takes up half the time of this trial  

Provide MAF adjustment

MAF is a registered trademark of FIIL, which mainly provides different noise reduction modes for FIIL earphones. It is turned off by default. At the same time, four noise reduction modes can be set, namely, open, simultaneous listening (not listening), noise reduction and in the wind, to adapt to the application conditions of different environments and needs.  

Provides sound adjustment

The FIIL APP can also make appropriate adjustments to the tri frequency distribution and reverberation (but only in the power on state, the default state is when you turn off) to meet the voice preferences of different users. Tri frequency can be adjusted to both ends. The scene mode can be adjusted from the default environment to a variety of scenes in the big theater. As the environment and venue become larger, obvious differences can be felt in the reverberation effect.  

Apt-X control, etc

Apt-X can also be set to enable in the APP, which is a technology of Qualcomm to optimize Bluetooth transmission. At present, Apt-X has been able to achieve CD quality audio transmission. The updated Apt-X HD is more powerful. Apt-X is not enabled by default, because this technology requires two-way support between the playback device and the headset, and will also increase power consumption.

And intelligent sensing is a very strange function. In the wireless state, if the headset is removed from the head, the concert will automatically pause, and the headset will automatically play. This design is very good, and the song will not be missed because the headset is removed.  

5、 Summary

After about a week of audition, I think Diva has all the advantages that should be available for street earphones:

High appearance and light;

Can reduce noise and listen at the same time;

Long endurance, equipped with intelligence;

The cost performance is superior.

However, the intelligent interaction part may need further strengthening. In addition, it would be more perfect if the background noise could be handled again during the next firmware update.

With regard to the use scenarios of Diva, more attention should be paid to commuting and other environments. In the state of complex voices, a quieter listening environment should be built through active noise reduction. Because the environment itself is not quiet, audio playback will also be affected, so although the sound quality of Diva is not very good, it is sufficient to meet the use environment of noise reduction headphones. From this point of view, Diva is a very competitive and cost-effective model among noise reduction earphones below 1000 yuan.
