Meizu held a press conference in Beijing National Convention Center on November 30, officially releasing Meizu PRO 6 Plus. Meizu PR0 6 Plus uses Samsung Exynos 8890 SOC, Sony IMX386 sensor (OIS four axis optical anti shake) and ESS ES9018K2M DAC+AD45275 op amp. This luxury configuration directly kills Meizu PRO 6s released a while ago, and the difference between the two is only 300 yuan.
Specifications
Note: Since the PRO 6 Plus 64GB uses a lower CPU frequency, and the GPU also reduces the two core Exynos 8890, its endurance is definitely stronger than the normal 8890. We will temporarily make it the "endurance version" Exynos 8890.
appearance
The package of PRO 6 Plus is very similar to that of PRO 6s, which adopts a black plastic box design. After opening the package, you can see the PRO 6 Plus body, the quick charger, the data cable, the VIP warranty card, the pin and the user's guide. There is no earphone equipped.
We Love to play computer games This time, I got the low configuration PRO 6 Plus (2999 yuan). Although it is not equipped with earphones, there is a folded cardboard in the packaging box, which is specially marked with Earphone not included, which is really interesting!
The charging specification of the PRO 6 Plus is still violent, and its marked fast charging specifications are 12V/2A, 5V/3A, 8V/3A. In addition, the original USB Type-C data cable of the PRO 6 Plus is made of solid materials, and the whole cable is very thick and not easy to roll.
The overall shape of the PRO 6 Plus is very similar to that of the PRO 6s, both of which are full metal body+micro arc design. There are two metal partition strips using injection molding technology on the back of the body. The layout of keys and interfaces is consistent with that of the PRO 6s.
The fingerprint identification module of PRO 6 Plus supports live fingerprint technology and dynamic heart rate detection.

system
On the system side, Meizu PRO 6 Plus uses Flyme 5.2.7.0A based on Android 6.0.1. The system of Meizu PRO 6 Plus has nothing to say. Its interface design and operation logic are the same as those of Meizu series mobile phones before.
During the evaluation, we found that PRO 6 Plus can be upgraded to the informal version of Flyme 6.0. The following is the system screenshot after upgrading to Flyme 6.0:
Flyme 6.0 has changed a lot. It has not only made adjustments in the system UI, color and font, but also made many functional improvements. For example, the operation of the multi task menu shown in the figure is still sliding upward on the phone interface, and the form has changed from before. In addition, the three function options of locking, blurring, and split screen can pop up when you pull down in each multi task, and the locked task cannot be cleared in the background; Blurring can be used to globally ground glass the preview of the task; In split screen operation, you can directly select a task for split screen operation.
After careful exploration, the new Flyme 6.0 will find many functional changes, including parallel space (different unlock passwords enter different user modes), children's space, client recycle bin, contact time machine (visualization), process harvester, self repair at night (reduce the power consumption of mobile phones during sleep), and so on.
performance
In terms of performance, because our Meizu PRO 6 Plus is a 64GB version, its Exynos 8890 specification is incomplete, Exynos M1 2.0GHz x4 + A53 1.5GHz x4, In addition, the GPU has shrunk the Mali-T880MP10, while the complete Exynos 8890 of the Galaxy S7 is Exynos M1 2.3GHz x4+A53 1.6GHz x4, and the GPU is Mali-T880MP12. And although the 8890 of S7 is officially declared to be 2.3GHz However, in actual use, its M1 core can be upgraded to 2.6GHz at most, which can be detected by software. When the S7 runs the GeekBench 4, it will also reach 2.6GHz. Therefore, the actual performance of the 32GB Meizu PRO 6 Plus is far lower than that of the 8890 Galaxy S7/S7 edge It is much lower than Huawei Mate 9. However, at the Mali-T880MP10 level, it can still carry a 2K resolution screen. In daily use, the PRO 6 Plus has no obvious jam.
Moreover, when Meizu PRO 6 Plus is in use, the core scheduling of the "endurance" Exynos 8890 is not stable. For example, when compression testing is added, the four cores of the 64GB PRO 6 Plus have been closed for a long time, so that its speed is only 1/3 of that of the Galaxy S7. In terms of flash memory reading and writing, like most flagship computers, the PRO 6 Plus also uses UFS2.0 flash memory speed, which is above the middle level of current flagship computers.
photograph
PRO 6 Plus and PRO 6s use almost the same specifications, and the description of the rear cameras on Meizu's official website has even reached the same level. The same 12 million pixel IMX386, the same optical anti shake around, the same F/2.0 aperture, and the same "6-piece lens with good image quality and strong resolution". Because their SoCs are different, ISPs are certainly different, but according to the official statement, the biggest difference between PRO 6 Plus and PRO 6s is the algorithm. PRO 6 Plus uses the iris image algorithm, and vivo Xshot, which was shocked when taking photos, also uses the iris algorithm.

In terms of daytime proofs, the difference between the two is not obvious. However, after zooming in and comparing, we can see the slight difference in algorithm between the two. This may be due to the fact that the gap is not large when the light is sufficient. However, the bottleneck of current smartphone photography is mainly weak light photography, so here, We can not reach the conclusion that the photo level of PRO 6s and PRO 6 Plus is basically the same.

In the indoor and weak light, PRO 6 Plus and PRO 6s are not very different, both glare and noise control performance are relatively close, of course, it may also require more sample environment to find the difference. We will conduct more detailed single photo evaluation of PRO 6 Plus later, and will join the mainstream flagship smart phones in the market for comparison. Please pay attention.
audio frequency
As the flagship of Meizu, PRO 6 Plus also continues the tradition of MX4 PRO and PRO 5, adding independent audio circuits. Compared with single Codec chips such as PRO 6 and PRO 6s, PRO 6 Plus has a much larger scale. However, it is somewhat disappointing that PRO 6 Plus still uses ES9018K2M decoding chip, with AD45275 (used on Xplay5a) and the new second generation Solo ear amplifier circuit. From the "book" point of view, it is weaker than those ES9028Q2M (C2M), ES9038Q2M and even ES9218 of vivo and LG, as well as two or three operational amplifier chips.
From the actual sense of hearing, PRO 6 Plus undoubtedly belongs to the top level of mobile phones. In general, the sound style of PRO 6 Plus is balanced, medium and low frequency, and the sound stimulation is not strong. It is a typical popular tuning. Like RPO 5 (later firmware, the legendary master tuning version), PRO 6 Plus has a soft and durable sound style, and its quality is no different from that of a higher level solution. Compared with the current top hardware Xplay6 (ES9038Q2M+3 * OPA1622), PRO 6 Plus is at a disadvantage in terms of high-frequency extension, analytical power, sound field, etc., but it has a better sense of medium frequency atmosphere, and a better sense of low frequency. The sense of low frequency speed is not so strong, and it is more moderate. These two mobile phones can be said to be two distinct styles. The overall quality of Xplay6 is slightly higher, and it also shows more HiFi, which is a kind of voice loved by enthusiasts. On the other hand, PRO 6 Plus is more "user-friendly". The heavier medium and low frequencies are more easily accepted by most users, and the softer sound is also more suitable for "reducing fever".
Although there are few sound slots, the PRO 6 Plus audio system (the latest Flyme 6 on December 13 was painted during the audition) is still not so user-friendly. After the HiFi mode is turned on, the impedance of the headset will be automatically judged to determine what level of gain to use. If the system determines that the gain is low, the user cannot manually adjust the high gain. The volume adjustment is not fine enough. When the gain is low, it is easy to use the volume key to adjust the volume of the adjacent two bars too wide. You need to use the touch screen to achieve more accurate adjustment. Endurance&Charging
In terms of endurance, the PRO 6 Plus equipped with 3400mAh battery performs well. In the three hour endurance test, there is still 75% of the power left, which is above the average level.
Meizu PRO 6 Plus charging power at 4%
PRO 6 Plus charging speed line chart
In terms of charging speed, Meizu PRO 6 Plus can maintain a maximum charging speed of about 21W in the case of extremely low power. In the actual measurement, when the power is below 60%, Meizu PRO 6 Plus can maintain a speed of charging 2% of the power in 1 minute for continuous fast charging, from 0 to 20% in 10 minutes, to 40% in 20 minutes, and to 60% in 30 minutes. It only takes 60 minutes to charge from 0% to 94%. Generally speaking, the speed is very fast.
summary
In fact, the 64GB version of PRO 6 Plus is better than the PRO 6s in general despite its poor performance. In today's smartphone market, the performance is always overflowing. Rather than worrying about the lack of SoC performance in daily use, we should consider whether it is caused by system optimization and insufficient memory. PRO 6 Plus is one of the flagship mobile phones with comprehensive performance this year. Whether it is the 64GB castration version of PRO 6 Plus or the 128GB emperor version, their purchase priority is much higher than the PRO 6s. On the day of the launch of PRO 6 Plus, it is equivalent to announcing the delisting of PRO 6s in a disguised way.
Galaxy S7 series smart phones have used Exynos 8890, the flagship SoC, as early as March this year, but Meizu has not used the "extended version" Exynos 8890 (128GB) until the end of this year The emperor version of PRO 6 Plus has not been sold yet). In the first quarter of 2017, the Snapdragon 835 has been launched. Huawei Kirin 960 has already exceeded the non castrated version of Exynos 8890 in performance. Half a year later, we will see a large number of mobile phones carrying the Snapdragon 835 and Kirin 960 (Huawei+Rongyao), and the Galaxy S8 will also be launched in April to May next year. In this case, PRO 6 Plus is embarrassed.
