According to the report released by the market research company Strategy Analytics, as of the third quarter of 2016, Samsung's profit share in the global mobile phone profit ranking was only 0.1%, and the profit was only $10 million, while Apple ranked first, up to 91%, Huawei ranked second, 2.4%, and both Vivo and OPPO were 2.2%.

This is the first time that Samsung's profit share fell out of the top five - only ranked ninth. Last year, Samsung's profit share reached 14%, ranking second only to Apple. Samsung Electronics' overall operating profit in the third quarter dropped 30% from nearly 7.4 trillion won a year ago to 5.2 trillion won, with a year-on-year drop of 16.8% in net profit to 4.54 trillion won (about $4 billion), and a 7.5% drop in revenue to 47.82 trillion won.

In fact, in 2016, Samsung was not only involved in the battery spontaneous combustion event of Note7, but also in the trusted door event of Park Geun hye. On November 8, South Korean prosecutors raided Samsung Electronics' office in Seoul, searching for evidence that Samsung had provided financial assistance to Choi Shunshi's daughter.
