In August this year, Google officially pushed the update of Android 7.0 Nougat to Nexus devices. Two months after its launch, its market share was only 0.3%. Android Lollipop became the system version with the highest penetration rate. According to the past rule, the market share of Android Nougat will not increase significantly in the short term, and the fragmentation of Android camp is still unresolved.
Between October and November, the share of Android versions in the world changed as follows:
Android 7.0/7.1 Nougat (released in August 2016): the share increased to 0.3%;
Android 6.0 Marshmallow (released in October 2015): up 5.3% to 24.0%;
Android 5.0/5.1 Lollipop (released in November 2014 and March 2015): down 0.9%, now 34.1%;
Android 4.4 KitKat (released in October 2013): down 2.5%, now 25.2%;
Android 4.1/4.2/4.3 Jelly Bean (released in July 2012/November 2012/July 2013 respectively): down 1.9%, now 13.7%;
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (released in December 2011): down 0.1%, now 1.3%;
Android 2.3 Gingerbread (released in February 2011): down 0.2%, now 1.3%;
Android 2.2 Froyo (released in May 2010): stable at 0.1%
The above data is generated by Google Play Store statistics, but the Play Store only supports Android 2.2 and above, so older models are not included in the statistics. In addition, Android devices sold in mainland China as representative devices without built-in Play Store cannot be included in the statistics.
