At Apple's press conference this morning, in addition to the new Macbook Pro, Apple also cooperated with LG to launch 4K and 5K UltraFine displays for dedicated Apple devices. This monitor is specially designed and manufactured for the new MacBook Pro.
The 21.5-inch 4K display, with a resolution of 4096 x 2304, costs $699.95. The 27 inch 5K LG UltraFine display has a resolution of 5120 x 2880 and a price of US $1299.95. It is also a P3 wide color gamut and supports multi stream transmission protocol. It can be driven by a Thunderbolt 3 cable.
The LG UltraFine monitor is equipped with three USB Type-C connectors, which can connect other peripherals. It also has built-in stereo speakers, cameras and microphones. The 4K monitor does not need a Thunderbolt 3 connector and supports any Mac equipped with a USB-C interface.
The 21.5-inch 4K version of the monitor can be purchased in Apple's online store, and the delivery time is 3-4 weeks. The 5K UltraFine version is currently unavailable. Its USB Type-C interface can also provide power for MacBook Pro in reverse.
