As a pioneer in the field of smart audio in China, we have long established a strategic cooperation intention with Alibaba, a smart home ecosystem, to jointly develop smart audio products in September last year, and have successively launched three smart audio MA1 MA3、MA5。 What I want to evaluate today is the latest MA5 smart audio of Rambler. What's the specific experience? Let's have a look.

Part 2 Unpacking&Appearance

The outer package of the rambler MA5 is mainly white, and the unique sound picture on the front is really beautiful, which subverts the sound concept of a square or cylindrical shape before Xiaobian. Through the logo on the outer package, we can see that in addition to the Bluetooth and WiFi logos, there are Alibaba Smart QR codes, which are convenient for users to scan the code and download the APP.

The overall dimensions of the MA5 sound body seem to be relatively small, but in fact the weight is not light at all, so there is a plastic foam box inside the package for protection, so as to avoid the appearance of bumps and scratches during the violent delivery process. In terms of product accessories, in addition to the manual, power adapter, remote control and eyeglass cloth, it is also equipped with a fiber optic audio cable with high transmission efficiency. There is no need to search in the APP, so on-demand is more convenient.

There is a circular screen in the middle of the front of the audio. From the circular screen, we can directly see the current connection mode (WiFi/Bluetooth/Aux), signal strength, and scroll to display the playing tracks. The blue numbers on the black background are very clear indoors, making the audio status clear at a glance. The microphone hole at the bottom of the screen is used to receive voice commands with the voice on demand key.

A pair of 19mm silk membrane dome tweeters and a pair of 3-inch mid bass units are symmetrically arranged on both sides of the front of the audio. The interface part on the back, from left to right, is 3.5mm audio input interface, optical input interface and power interface.

The bottom of the speaker is an oval base, with a layer of anti-skid silicone pad on the outer edge, which can play a stable anti-skid effect.

Part3 APP experience

The two-dimension code of "Alibaba Smart APP" already exists on the product package. Downloading the APP by scanning the code is a bit cumbersome, but the successful connection will not take more than 5 minutes. The manual has detailed operation procedures, so the minor editing is no longer cumbersome.

It can be clearly seen from the APP page that Rambler MA5 supports mainstream online music platforms including Xiami Music, Douban FM, Himalayan FM and Dragonfly FM. The main page also has four sections: music album, radio station, music station, audio column, and supports column subscription and music collection. There is a voice control function in the upper right corner of the device page, but this function has no effect on the MA5 audio. It should be used to control other devices.

In the scene of the discovery page, there is a music alarm clock function that can play your favorite music regularly according to your needs. However, one of the prerequisites is that the audio must be in standby mode. If you can automatically start it regularly, it will be perfect.

Part 4 Music quality

For a sound system, excellent music quality is very important, and music quality can be divided into three parts: sound quality, volume and sense of hearing. The sound quality is determined by the number of channels and transmission loss. The MA5 adopts a 2.0 channel system that can fully meet the needs of home use, and the bandwidth of the WiFi connection can basically be guaranteed to be more than 150Mbps. The transmission effect of lossless music has been greatly improved compared with that of the Bluetooth connection. When the volume is adjusted to 45 (60 at most), it will reach 85 decibels after passing the mobile phone software test. Although the 3.5kg MA5 is more suitable for use at home, such a large volume can be held even in outdoor use. In the sense of listening, the MA5 bass is powerful, rich in details, and the depth of diving is very good, while the midrange voice is rich and full, very delicate, clear, and full of penetration. Although it is slightly lacking in the high pitch, it does not hurt elegance, and is very suitable for playing pop music.
