On September 5, 2016, Meizu held a new Meilan product launch at the National Convention Center, and released the 6.0 inch giant screen smartphone Meilan Max. The configuration of Meilan Max is not brilliant, or the configuration of Meilan series has never been brilliant. This time, it is only equipped with MT6755M SoC, 3GB RAM, 13 megapixel camera (IMX258). The overall shape of Meilan Max is very similar to that of Meilan E. The initial impression it gives me is that it is a large screen version of Meilan E.
appearance
The packaging of the Meilan Max is not very different from the conventional Meilan series. After opening the packaging, in addition to the Meilan Max body, it is equipped with instructions, pins, quick charging heads, and data cables.
The Meilan Max supports 24W fast charging, and its fast charging head is also the strongest in the Meilan series, supporting 5V/9V/12V 2A. Compared with the thick wires standard for the PRO series, its data cable is somewhat thin.
In terms of configuration, Meilan Max uses a 6.0 inch 1080P screen, the SoC is MediaTek MT6755M, 3GB RAM+64ROM (supporting Micro SD card), the rear camera has 13 million images (IMX258)+5 million pixels in front, the battery capacity is 4100mAh, supports mTouch, dual cards, dual standby full network access, and fast charge (24W fast charge), and there are four colors in total: gray, silver, gold, and rose gold.
The appearance of Magic Blue Max is very similar to that of Magic Blue E released last month, which is a magnified version of Magic Blue E. The same integrated metal body, key layout, CNC corner cutting, 2.5D glass front panel, this is Meilan Max.
The layout of the interface and keys of Magic Max is the same as that of Magic Max series. The position of the card holder is on the upper left of the body, the upper right is the volume and power keys, and the bottom is Micro USB, 3.5mm headphone interface, microphone opening, and speaker opening.
performance
In terms of performance, since I just got the Meilan Max, I just did a simple test here. Of course, since the Meilan Max uses the MT6755M, you only need to recall the previous Meilan series of mobile phones, without any expectations. An rabbit runs 47484, GeekBench 3.0 single core scores 780, and multi core scores 3053. With 3GB of memory, 1.5GB is available after power on.

The rear camera sensor of Meilan Max is IMX258, which is not equipped with optical anti shake. Since SoC is the same as Magic Blue E, its ISP is the same as Magic Blue E. In limited scenes, its white balance is not too bad, and the number of noise points and processing methods are the same as those of Magic Blue E. From the perspective of configuration and imaging results, the photographic quality of Meilan Max is comparable to that of Meilan E, which is more than 1000 yuan. Everyone should be practical and not have any illusions about it.
Write at the end
In the past Meizu products, there has never been a smartphone with a size of more than 6.0 inches. Meizu Max is the first, which is also the first time Meizu named Max as a phone model. In fact, among the dazzling new products of Meizu this year, the launch of a giant screen mobile phone is justifiable, but the problem is that Meizu has used a SoC like MT6755M at a price of 1699 yuan, which means "strong is strong" and "weak is weak". Not only that, Meilan Max is identical with Meilan E in the main parameter configuration, The biggest difference between the two is the screen size and charging speed (Meilan E 9V/2A, Meilan Max12V/2A). The question is whether there are users who feel that the 5.5-inch Meilan E screen is not large enough and are willing to add 400 yuan to replace it with a 6.0-inch Meilan Max?
Because of the price of 1299 yuan of Meilan E, it is no longer a thousand yuan machine, but it is acceptable. The price of 1699 yuan of Meilan Max is a bit awkward. Because this price is very close to 2000 yuan, consumers only need to add a few hundred more to get a leap in experience. The original advantage of giant screen phones lies in the screen size. Whether it is Xiaomi Max (6.44 inches) or Glory NOTE 8 (6.6 inches), their size advantage is more obvious than that of Magenta Max, and their configuration is stronger. At the press conference, Li Nan, Vice President of Meizu Technology, once again stressed that "young people's consumption is upgrading" and also said that "young people are entering the workplace", but this has nothing to do with Meilan Max.
