GoPro held a press conference in California, the United States. In addition to the regular protagonist GoPro HERO 5 (HERO 5 Black and HERO 5 Session), the current CEO of GoPro, Nick Woodman, also announced the launch of the first UAV under GoPro, Kamar.
The release of Hero5 is not unexpected. As a regular update of Hero series models, Hero5 has added many features, such as voice control and cloud storage. This time GoPro has streamlined the product line, including only two models, HERO 5 Black and HERO 5 Session. The former is equipped with 12 million pixel sensors, and the latter is 10 million pixel sensors, Both are also capable of 4K/30fps video shooting.
They will be sold on October 2 at a price of US $399 (about 2660 yuan) and US $299 (about 2000 yuan) respectively.
In addition to the update of HERO series, the most eye-catching event of this conference is the Kamar UAV. Similar to the previous exposure, Kamar adopts a compact foldable design, which can be easily carried by folding four wings. At this press conference, Nick Woodman took it out of his backpack and showed it to the audience.
Kamar body is equipped with a three-axis camera stabilizer. GoPro has designed a detachable design here. After removing the PTZ, install it to the attached Karma Grip (the handle of the handheld PTZ), which can immediately become an independent handheld PTZ. Of course, users need to buy their own cameras. This PTZ supports the newly released HERO 5 products.
GoPro provides Kamar with a remote control with the appearance of a game handle. The controller has a touch screen, so it doesn't need to be equipped with a display device like other UAVs. All operations can be completed by using the controller.
The price of the Kamar UAV is $799 (about 5329 yuan). At the same time, the package of HERO5 is also launched: the price of the Kamar+Hero 5 Session is $999 (about 6663 yuan), and the price of the Kamar+Hero 5 Black is $1099 (about 7330 yuan). It was also launched in the United States on October 2.
