Jia Yueting recently reconfirmed on Weibo that Rob Chandhok, a former senior vice president of Qualcomm and a pioneer of the global Internet of Things, has joined LeEco, which is also one of many executive appointments to be announced by LeEco in the near future. For example, not long ago, Adam Goodman, the former president of Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks, became the president of Le Vision Entertainment and reported to Zhang Zhao, the chairman of the company. Rob Chandhok will be the chief R&D officer of LeEco North America. Before joining LeEco, Rob Chandhok served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Helium Systems Inc., President of Qualcomm Interactive Platform and Senior Vice President of Qualcomm Technologies.
As for this joining, Mr. Ren Hongliang, president of LeEco North America, said, "We strive to build the next technology era, namely the ecosystem era, so that countless screens used by everyone can be seamlessly and smoothly connected. Rob's expertise is the key to help LeEco realize this vision. We are very excited that he can join our growing leadership team."
Jia Yueting, the founder, chairman and CEO of LeEco Holding Group, said, "Rob Chandhok is expected to integrate his rich experience in wireless networks, software and hardware systems with LeEco, and continue to bring unique and ultimate experiences to global users."
After joining LeEco, Rob Chandhok will serve as the chief R&D officer of North America. Previously, LeEco had recruited two former executives of Samsung to join its North American division, serving as the revenue director and administrative director of North America respectively. In addition, Rob Chandhok's joining shows that LeEco is ambitious for the smart phone market in North America. When Rob Chandhok was senior vice president and president of the business unit of Qualcomm, he was mainly responsible for leading the company's software strategy, developing source code plans, and wearables and virtual reality departments.
