Do you want to continue on the road of dreams-- To MX6
Do you want to continue on the road of dreams-- To MX6

[Write in front]

On July 19, 2016, Meizu MX6 new product launch conference was held as scheduled. Although the launch of MX5 is only one year away, in the first half of this year, under the layout of new products with high intensity and fast pace, people are more talking about PRO series or Magic Blue series, and MX series seems to fade out of people's vision. In the second half of the year, Slogan, the flagship mobile phone for all metal fast charging photography, made a strong comeback. Is it another radical product or an elaborate one? Let's go into the MX6 to find out!

[Look at the appearance&details. It's still Meizu's taste]

The familiar simple white outer package has the outline of MX6 on the front and the conventional parameters on the back. This time I got my favorite Tuhao gold color matching

This packaging is no longer the usual heaven and earth cover type, but the magnetic folding type.
The MX6 with white panel is more exquisite in the black atmosphere.

The standard charging kit is placed in a black box.

Quick charging adapter, Type-c data cable, clip, manual and warranty card.
Not many parts, just fine.

Tear off the protective film and see the dark screen covered with 2.5D glass.

The MX6 is equipped with a 5.5 inch full HD InCell screen, which is also the first time Meizu uses TDDI touch display integration solution. At the press conference, I was also confused. Later, I inquired about the information and learned that, unlike the previous need to use two chips at the same time, TDDI technology can integrate touch and display drivers into one chip, reducing power consumption, improving screen sensitivity and reducing display noise while ensuring display effect. For such a technical thing, ordinary users don't need to go deep into it. They just need to know that the MX6 screen will be smoother and brighter.

Meizu has never stopped pursuing narrow borders since the MX2 era. Compared with the so-called ID borderless of LeEco and Nubia, the narrow borders of the MX6 are more practical and comfortable.

The openings at the top of the front are symmetrically designed, with a cute white face. From left to right, there are light sensors, earphones, and front facing cameras.

At the bottom is the classic round waist type mTouch button, surrounded by a circle of gold-plated coils, which is more compatible with the Tuhao gold color matching market proof. This round waist type fingerprint home key is increasingly popular with users, and major manufacturers have also adopted this design, but Meizu is the only one with a humanized mBack interaction experience.

The ID design on the back of the fuselage is the same as that of the Pro 6. The metal integrated fuselage, precise CNC chamfering, PBT nano injection molding, and the antenna cutting process are the same. No wonder the MX6 is ridiculed as "the magnified version of Pro 6". The only difference is that the ring flash of the Pro 6 has been changed to the ordinary dual color temperature flash of the MX6, and the laser focusing module has also been canceled.

Compared with the crater type rear camera of Le 2 pro and One Plus 3, the projection of the MX6 lens is better controlled.

The dual Nano SIM card slot is placed on the left side of the fuselage and does not support SD card expansion, so the 32G ROM equipped is very conscientious.
In terms of network system, MX6 supports all Netcom, dual 4G card blind plug and VoLTE call, which can meet the needs of more users.

The power key and volume key for polishing are set on the right side of the machine body. The two keys have a short distance, good tactile feedback, and no looseness.

There is only one noise reduction microphone opening on the top of the fuselage, which is very abrupt in design and embarrassing for obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Meizu is actively laying out the smart hardware LifeKit ecosystem, but it still does not have a basic infrared sensor module for mobile phones, which may be because Meizu feels that the time has not yet come and it is unnecessary to equip it!!

The holes of the fuselage are mainly concentrated on the bottom, such as headphone hole, Type-C data interface, speaker, etc.
With the development of technology, it has become a trend to eliminate the 3.5mm headphone hole. Le 2 series mobile phones have taken the lead in adopting this design. The bottom symmetrical opening is more aesthetic. I hope the MX7 can adopt this design.

[Testing performance&charging and endurance. The flagship also has hard power]

In terms of performance, Meizu still adheres to the strategy of using MTK processors for all products. Since the higher end PRO 6 uses Helio X25, the MX6 has to choose Helio X20:10 core CPU, three cluster architecture (1.4GHz A53 x 4+1.9GHz A53 x 4+2.3GHz A72 x 2), the maximum 2.3GHz dominant frequency, and the GPU is Mali-T880 with 780MHz dominant frequency. The 20nm process is equipped with 4G RAM+32G ROM. This configuration is not flagship, but it can meet the daily use of users!

MediaTek claims that the score of the Helio X20 processor has reached 100000, but it is not that high, basically more than 80000, which may be related to the optimization of the mobile phone system. After all, the score is good for reference only, so don't be too serious about the score, because the experience of mobile phone users is really good!

Although Helio X20 is a high-end processor released by MediaTek at the beginning of this year, it still has a big gap with Qualcomm processor. In the game test, I purposely chose "Top Speed Car 17: Most Wanted" and "NBA 2K16". The former has full special effects and runs perfectly; The latter is obviously stuck and frame dropped, which is also what I expected. After all, the GPU of Helio X20 is hard injured, ha ha~

The MX6 battery has a capacity of 3060 mAh and is equipped with mCharge for safe and fast charging. It supports up to 24W of ultra fast charging power. The official claim is that it can be fully charged in 75 minutes.

The author found that the power consumption of the MX6 is about 90min when it is fully charged, which is somewhat different from the official data, but has little impact. In the early stage of charging, high power is likely to cause serious body heating. mCharge will conduct intelligent voltage regulation according to the phone temperature to avoid excessive temperature and ensure charging safety.

0~8h in the above figure indicates that the standby time is 8 hours in sleep, and the power loss is 3%;
8~10h means that the video is played continuously for 2 hours, and the power consumption is about 20%;
10~11h means playing games for one hour continuously, and the power consumption is up to 27%;
11~12h means playing music continuously for one hour, and the power consumption is only 6%;
12~13.5h means that QQ, WeChat, and Weibo are constantly switching back and forth, and the power consumption is about 22%.
After a 5.5 hour endurance test, the remaining power of the MX6 is 18%. It can be seen that it is OK to charge it once a day for moderate use.

[Talk about the system · constantly improving Flyme]

Light up the screen to enter the system, and you will still see the familiar Flyme. The simple flat style gives you a refreshing feeling.

Pull down the shortcut button bar and notification bar of calling out Gaussian blur processing at the top of the screen;
Slide up the bottom to call up the card type multi task menu, which is very smooth.

The split screen function is not black technology, but I still like it very much. I feel very comfortable when I go to JD while shopping on Taobao and grabbing red envelopes while watching the news. Unfortunately, the system supports few split screen applications, even the popular Sina Weibo, which shows that the popularity is not high.

Apple has small dots, Meizu has suspended balls.
Compared with the apple dot with rich and complex functions, Meizu levitation ball is relatively simple: click back, double click the lock screen, slide up to return to the desktop, slide down to expand the notification bar, slide left and right to switch between multiple tasks... Users can also customize, which is really convenient for single handed operation.

Fingerprint entry is simple, and supports adding up to 5 fingerprints.

Surprisingly, Meizu has finally fulfilled its promise and made WeChat fingerprint payment accessible for the first time, which saves you the trouble of entering a password if you love to send red envelopes.
More than ten actual measurements show that the fingerprint recognition rate is high and the payment speed is fast. Warm tips: you should check the amount before sending red packets, or you will go out with a touch of your finger, ha ha~

In addition, I also want to talk about the disconnection and mutual wake-up mechanism of Flyme OS. For "online self startup" or "background self startup" applications, they can often be managed by prohibiting self startup, but it is difficult to control rogue 360, Baidu Family Bucket and other stubborn applications. Flyme engineers have developed the "cut off mutual wake-up" function to achieve intelligent interception from the bottom layer of the system, which greatly improves the system fluency and is also conducive to solving memory occupation Problems such as inexplicable power consumption and traffic sneak.
Praise the engineers!

[Play with photos and meet good photos]

In terms of camera, the MX6 front 5 megapixel camera, 4P lens+f/2.0 aperture, and FotoNation intelligent beauty and Face AE automatic face recognition algorithm are equipped. When the user opens the front camera, the camera will be configured with the beauty function by default, making the self portrait more natural. In order to play with the beauty effect, the author "doesn't want to face" on the ground, and the actual effect is amazing, This is a must for girls~Especially those beautiful anchors, hee hee~~

Seeing that Sony has specially customized an IMX286 CMOS for Huawei P9, Meizu also "proudly" asked Sony to customize an IMX386 CMOS for Huawei P9, and launched it in the MX6 world. 12 million pixels, the unit pixel size reaches 1.25 µ m, ƒ/2.0 large aperture, customized 6P lens, PDAF phase focusing, dual color temperature dual flash. With this configuration, the MX6's photographing ability has been greatly improved, and the actual effect is still to use the proof.

It is also a simple camera interface. There are many shooting modes such as automatic, manual, beauty, panorama, macro, GIF dynamic image, and 11 real-time filters for users to choose from
Here are some samples:

Maoming has been in high sunshine these days. It is difficult for the MX6 to focus and measure light in strong sunlight outdoors. The white balance is serious and the exposure is large

Under the indirect light, the MX6's white balance is more accurate, the details are more expressive, and the blue sky, white clouds and pavilions are closer to natural colors.

Under the indoor light, the sample is brighter as a whole, and the theme is more prominent.

Customized 6P lens can effectively reduce the loss of light and ensure higher color reproduction.

In macro mode, thanks to the large aperture of ƒ/2.0, the MX6 has more light input, which brings better background virtualization effect.

The shooting in the evening gives people a feeling of "the setting sun is infinitely good, just near dusk".

"The upgraded platform matches the new noise reduction algorithm, the night scene is pure, and the dark scene is rich in details". This is a promotional copy of the MX6 night scene shooting on the official website. At first, the author looked forward to it, but the actual experience was a little disappointed, the focusing speed became slower, the noise problem was still prominent, and the picture had a certain sense of vagueness. In addition, it is also a great pity that there is no optical anti shake (considering that PRO 6 also has no optical anti shake, the author will be more balanced, ha ha~)

However, when the lens is focused on the light source, the picture is still very pure

[Finally, say more]

From the experience of more than one month, the performance of MX6 is still within my expectations. Following the process design of PRO6, equipped with consistently exquisite workmanship, equipped with a screen with better display effect, and improved photography ability, these are the reasons why I like the MX6. However, I am dissatisfied with it in two aspects: the highly criticized MTK processor and the unsatisfactory night photography. But these two points cannot hide the fact that the MX6 is a good phone!

Meizu gave a new definition of MX series: "insight of mature technology+cutting off gimmicks but refusing mediocre configuration+price matching dreams". It can be seen that MX series is no longer amazing and exciting, it is more of a practical, more mature and perfect product series, and the fresh MX6 is the best interpretation of this definition!
In my opinion, the MX6 is still a dream phone worth buying, whether out of emotion or based on reality. The road of MX is destined to be an ordinary road. I hope Meizu can keep its original intention and continue to walk on this road!
